On the other hand, Melvin Cole could get 5 years.

Thank God! I was always impressed with Loren as a person, and I really hope that he can move forward from here in a positive way.

Considering it became public knowledge on September 5, it would have been nice to see the story published in the Sunday edition where four times more people would see it to truly clear his name in the eyes of the public, but I'll take what I can get. You almost can't un-ring a bell like that, which is why it's important to wait for the facts to get sorted out in any situation before launching into lynch-mob mode.

I always thought based off his character that he was not guilty. Story that happened sure said otherwise and he looked pretty guilty. I guess the moral of this story is to give the benefit of the doubt to somebody who you believe to be of good character.

I met Loren in person when we sat together at the BG "tour" at the Cleve. Airport area restaurant a couple of years ago. (the FREAK was there too). I was impressed with Loren at the time...and admittedly, was very surprised and disappointed when all this drug stuff first came down. Didn't seem to be the same person...Then again, nobody really knows someone well based upon one meeting, even if it lasted for almost 2 hrs.

Thank God! That is the best news that could come from this. Like '61 said, we sat with him (Bleeding Orange was there as well) at that event in 2006 and he was such a well mannered young man. I simply couldn't believe the news when I heard about it.

Would love to see Loren back at BG for the EMU game (Blade said he was at the MN game).

Best of luck for the indoor leagues, Loren.

I agree, why wait 2 weeks to write this story. I hope he catches on in Arena.
