My thoughts are with Dante as well. Good to hear that he should recover enough to have a normal life.

As a side note, gmartin, welcome aboard (albeit under grim circumstances) and feel free to stick around. We've got a few Indy folks around here and it's always nice to pick up a few more!

As I started this thread I thought I would give some more insight. I went to the hospital this morning. Dante's playing career is definately over. In fact, he will have about 18 months of rehab ahead of him just to be able to 'have the chance' to walk again. He does have slight feeling in his limbs but may need to have 2 or 3 more additional surgeries. I wasn't allowed in the room but did speak with 3 of the 6 doctors that did work on him over the past day plus. As far as the hit, it was clean and legal. Then after our Colts lost our game I heard that a Raven's players took a head to head hit as well. Continue to keep Dante in your prayers!

Thanks for that update, gmartin. Just a horrible thing to happen to any young man playing football.

Prayers and all the best to Dante, his family and the Ball State program.
