Okay, your credibility is above my socks now, but still lingering the level of last night's dinner.
I hate all the speculating and rumor mongering, but at least its given me something to get me through the work day.
The Peter Principle is best exemplified by what's going on in college coaching today. The "good" coaches will climb the professional ladder until they reach their level of incompetence, and then get fired. Fortunately for them, however, they'll have made enough money along the way to retire happily thereafter, and maybe even do a little laughing on their way to the bank. The whole thing is assininely out of control. Maybe college coaches should be put on the same salary schedule as the faculty with the added feature of an expense account.

No one here ever said he accepted the offer.
And the only way Omar tests the NFL draft waters after next year, I think, is if he does what he did this year and more, AND the team makes a run at the BCS.
If he duplicates 2004, I don't see how the NFL wouldn't be very interested. Unfortunately.
we all thought Josh was 3rd or 4th round material,
-The "accepted the offer" thing was a misread on my part. My bad.
-I still think that even if Omar puts up these numbers again, the team has to do some things to help him out. If he throws 36 TD's, but the team comes up mediocre against Wisconsin, Boise St., Toledo and NIU (providing we stay in the West), he's likely to still get tagged with the "that's nice against Kent and Buffalo, but what can you do against tough competition"? To leave after your junior year, you have to be GUARANTEED first round, and while he'd garner interest, without an outstanding team record, there would likely be enough questions to make a first round guarantee somewhat shaky, I think.
-The "we all" was a generalization, but I would say its safe to say the majority of us were surprised when Josh didn't go until the 6th round, especially with some of the quarterbacks that DID go in the third or fourth.

"I gave him the best two years of my life and he left me..." gack!
