USF is in Tampa. And BG outscored Pitt 27-3 from the 2nd quarter on in that first game.

Shouldn't they be "Middle Florida", then?

What???? Tampa???? I'm glad I didn't bet my lunch on that, otherwise I would go hungry today.

Great a directional without direction. The tried University of Middle Gulf Coastal Florida Tampa Campus, but they couldn't get UMGCFTC on thier helmets.

I watched the entire game, and BG did beat Pitt, it was an impressive showing, slow start aside. BG has not gotten a fair shake for having beaten them. What hurts was the perception of the MAC, UB almost beating them right after us, and the near loss against Iowa. But it is unfair to Pitt to label BG or UB as being as bad as implied, they did knuckle down and beat Iowa, and last night was what might prove the point that the team finally gels for the year.

This is why I yearn for BG to win the MAC. All the focus on national glory and hype amounts to nothing in the end. Right now winning the MAC is the only lasting thing that will provide lasting bragging rights.

Pitt is 4-1, Boise State is still undefeated and Minnesota's only loss is to OSU by less than the spread. AKA our OOC schedule was brutal and I think we will fair much better than .500 against the MAC.
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

No question BG should do better against the MAC. If they were to choke up against the schedule they have now, there would be massive issues. I won't speculate on how BG might do against BSU or CMU in a title game, should be make it to such an event. Too much time left to play. Yet this seems like BG's best chance for a title in many years.

We'll need to do a bit better than .500 in the MAC for a.) the respect that seems to be missing from the press b.) vie for a MACC and, c.) get to a Bowl.

Also heard last night was Craig James professing his man-love for all things SEC
There is no other way to finish a season other than yelling at the top of your lungs among BG's players holding the Peace Pipe aloft!

Craig James kisses monkeys.

Anyhoo...watching Lesean McCoy rip through the USF defense last night makes me feel a lot better about our prospects going forward. I think our defense is going to be a rela strength in conference paly this year.

The SEC is a different breed of football, but back to the topic and that is as of right now we appear to be the best team in the MAC East. CMU & Ball State do look tough, but they are in the West! :D

Not that the east is any different, but with WMU, CMU, and BSU out there, you have to wonder if they best team in the west might not fail to make the title game.

The East is definitely wide open. Thank god ALL MAC games count this year.

My observations so far (and of what's to come)...

BGSU
(0-0) (2-2) - no Ball State, WMU or CMU to play, beat 4-1 Pitt team

MIAMI
(0-0) (1-3) - lost to 3 decent teams and barely beat Charleston Southern

BUFFALO
(1-1) (2-3) - hail mary away from 0-2, have looked good at times, play WMU next week

AKRON
(0-1) (2-3) - played some decent games, one of the easier MAC schedules

OHIO
(0-1) (1-4) - lost a few close games, plays WMU this week

KENT STATE
(0-1) (1-4) - only win vs. delaware state

TEMPLE
(0-2) (1-4) - all but out, plays CMU next week

I think Akron might be a bigger threat to us than Buffalo or Miami. We get Buffy and Miami at home....both of them have been spotty at best. (cr)Akron has been performing better than expected this year and we have to go play them in that dump in Akron.

If this team plays consistent it has the talent to go 10-2.

The problem is Brandon teams are consistently inconsistent and tend to not show up for atleast a game or two in the MAC season.

Lets hope its not the case this year.
