Miami's Larkin stabbed in fight
Just saw this story over at ESPN.com:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1939383
Not too many details, esp any regarding if he would play in the Independence Bowl for diciplinary or injury reasons. Just says the fight was a dispute over a blocked car and not much else.

Scoreboard
Also happens in Columbus, Miami, Colorado. Didn't you get an assistant from there??
I remember when Toledo players ended up in the hospital when they picked a bar fight back in the 80's. We've improved.

He had no ties to that scandal. Those were unrelated incidents. He had no charges, no issues with the law, unlike others we know. Try this one to refresh your memories...since the '80s. Have you been under a rock for 20 years?

Doesn't matter...they were Rockettes when it occurred.
As for where are they now (using a Redshirt for discipline still saves that year of eligibility - not much of a punishment to me)...

Brock Dodrill, an all-conference linebacker on the University of Toledo football team who was suspended indefinitely earlier this year after two run-ins with police, has rejoined the team but will not play this season.
Rocket coach Tom Amstutz said Dodrill, a senior from Defiance who was sixth in the Mid-American Conference in tackles last season, will sit out the coming season as a redshirt and possibly play in 2005. Dodrill is practicing with the team as it prepares for the Sept. 4

Was your guy ever cleared?
Oh Yes,
Your new Lady Falcon was there in Colorado. We just can't prove it in a court of law. Just like OHJAY. The wheels of justice turn slowly. Maybe Ms. Knida will have a civil case one day or discuss it in her book.
And Brock throws eggs and drinks too much. Sounds like 50% of all frat boys. Maybe he is the next Romanowski! I hope so!

I would like to add my comments to those made earlier. BGSU Football Coach Gregg Brandon has made two mistakes.
First, he should not have hired Vance Joseph from the University of Colorado football coaching staff until the allegations of NCAA recruiting violations and allegations of rapes committed by Colorado football players had been resolved. By hiring preemptively, Coach Brandon has actually done a disservice to his friend by making it that much harder for Coach Joseph to ever clear his name.
Second, Coach Brandon's comment in the national media that "he doesn't care" doesn't sit well with anyone including me, and actually carries the unintended implication that Coach Brandon knows his friend is guilty. I would say that Coach Brandon is the one who has done the damage here, not those who have sent in letters worried about the implications.
Thanks to Coach Brandon, Athletic Director Paul Krebs now faces two unsavory prospects: Placing Coach Joseph on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigations at the University of Colorado, or else toughing it out and facing the public relations nightmare and loss of fans at BGSU home games next year. The anger of alumni who are BGSU football fans should be appropriately directed.

Thanks for the straight scoop
Not exactly reading the Blade everyday here in Lakeland.
there's a story in today's cincinnati enquirer about the larkin incident. they have charged someone, but it's still not clear if larkin will play in the indy bowl. however, to paraphrase many coaches, "nothing much good happens after 10pm."
guess i have to question why larkin was at a frat party at 4am.
regardless, sounds like he will be fine. hopefully, for his sake, he can play his final collegiate game and close out a great career as miami's all-time leading receiver and add one more game to his ncaa record for consecutive games with at least one catch. i believe if he plays and catches a pass in the game, the record will stand at 50 games. not bad for a 5'7", 165 lb. WR.
