WHAT?!!
We had our toughest non-conference schedule in years, went 2-2 out of including a victory over a good Pittsburgh team, and we're one of the favorites to win the MAC, certainly the favorite in the East Division, and there's little excitement for the program this year?!!
This after we sold out the Doyt for our first home game back on September 6th against Minnesota?!!
I can't believe some of the s**t I'm reading here today.

Although I totally agree that there should be a lot of excitement for the team given our performance against this tough OOC schedule we had, most people will look and see 2-2, not 2-2 against really good opponents. Quite honestly, if we were 4-0 right now, we probably still wouldn't have a sell-out because it's EMU, and people don't come out for BG games unless it's a big opponent or a big national scene. Considering we're 2-2, and considering it's EMU, we'll probably get 17k-18k.

We sold out because of the opponent and the big win vs. Pitt. I can recall many people being there who didn't really care about the game, or the program, they were just there for the appeal of the game. It's no way a rip on the university or the athletes, it just is what it is. I think student turnout will be somewhat iffy, and I don't think many townies will come out. Just my opinion. The opponent doesn't help either, although it should be a win.
We'll be at least at 18,000. I do think that there is fan interest in this team. It did cool somewhat with two losses in a row, but this is homecoming, and that usually brings a good turnout. Of the 18,000, I'll expect about 99.8% to be BGSU fans! The remaining people will just be Jeff Genyk's family!
Besides the fact that there seemed to be very little to get excited about, I felt there was less enthusiasm in this crowd than there was in the fourth quarter of the Tulsa Bowl. It was like "we" knew what was going to happen from the very beginning. The several hundred of us that made it to the Pitt game made more noise down 14 than this crowd ever made on a 4th down. The Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba's out there need to start taking more of a stand, literally. Amen.

I know the AZZers I was sitting with and around were standing and making noise to the bitter end.
Maybe if the team would act like they gave a damn the crowd would as well? It's a thought anyways...
