WTF?
WTF?
From Ryan's column:
"Following the game, the Eagles lit a Falcon jersey on fire that belonged to their coach Jeff Genyk, a 1982 BG alum."
Are you kidding me? Get bent, Genyk.

MACMAN
From the standpoint of the players, it's in poor taste (and stupid... fire? really? Cut up a BG flag or t-shirt or something...fire!??!)MACMAN wrote:dont see how that is classless
From the standpoint of Genyk, not only offering up his old college jersey, but also bringing it to the Doyt with the intention of burning it after a win??? He can kiss my shiny brown and orange azz.

I care. Any disrespect to BGSU is BS in my book. I don't care if we had beaten them 1000 to 0 and he did it in frustration.Rollo83 wrote:Who cares?
He came to our house, with a jersey that was PROVIDED for him by BGSU with the intention of being an ass.
Put him in the same box with Takininini or whatever. They may have something on paper that says they fulfilled the requirements, but they missed the honor the paper bestows.

Who cares, as Warthog said, if we win it doesn't happen. Personally I think it was probably a pretty good and motivating move on his part as a head coach. He is coaching one of the worst teams, and they haven't beaten us since 1989. It might have added some extra motivation to his players. EMU isn't paying him to be nostalgic about his time as a player at BG. They are paying him to coach and bleed EMU green. This doesn't say anything to me about what he thinks of BG and his time here.

Nope. Sorry. It's classless. Would any one on this board be proud of BG for burning any jersey after a win?
I would be disappointed if there was. It's a game and you win and lose with class.
This is the same as taking a dump on the seal in University oval. Uncalled for an low. Genyk is no longer an alumnus in my book. He can go f*ck himself with a water tower.

Burning the American flag? I have a problem.
An ex-BG player now coaching a bad D1 team trying to motivate his players before a game against his alma mater by burning his old jersey? Not so much.

It was after the game. Not a motivation tactic. If it were as motivation, I'd view it as more tacky than classless. AFTER the game, it's a slap in the face to his alma mater, regardless of where he's coaching now.

On the bright side, I think we now know who stole FortWayneFalcon's grill.

Motivating them for the rest of the season. He just beat his alma mater for the first time and put that all behind him. He's showing the team he's now an Eagle and not a Falcon any more.TG1996 wrote:"Following the game, the Eagles lit a Falcon jersey on fire that belonged to their coach Jeff Genyk, a 1982 BG alum."Rollo83 wrote:Burning the American flag? Why begrudge him that? Get over it. It doesn't mean a hill of beans in the grand scheme of things.

You're pissed at the wrong coach. Try and use some of that emotion on our team.TG1996 wrote:"Following the game, the Eagles lit a Falcon jersey on fire that belonged to their coach Jeff Genyk, a 1982 BG alum."Rollo83 wrote:Burning the American flag? I have a problem.

I'm pissed about a lot of things, but this thread is about Jeff Genyk and his hat made of ass.Rollo83 wrote:You're pissed at the wrong coach. Try and use some of that emotion on our team.
