Blitz?

Post by Redwingtom »

I did not make the game or read all the other threads, but can anyone tell me if we even attempted to blitz the EMU QB on their final drive?

Nope. Didn't really blitz much all game. Brandon mentioned in the presser that he thought we could get pressure with our front 4. We really weren't able to do that most of the game, but they didn't change it up for that final drive either.

Not sure it would've mattered as the coverage was about as bad as I've ever seen on that drive. Every play the guys were wide open. I still have no clue what the coverage scheme was that we were running, but it was BAD.

Another troubling item on that final drive was that Briggs and Ream were not in there on the D-Line. Hard to get pressure from four when 2 of your best are on the bench. I also have no idea what coverage they were running, they threw at will.

There were no adjustments on either side of the ball, and obviously whatever "plans" the coaches had, stunk.

Maybe they should take Will out of the lineup and try someone else?
