The RoadRunner Beep Beep ROCK! It was the pathetic, stupid, and annoying screech that sucked hard. It was as inspirational and pleasant to hear as teeth scraping on cement. And it was as original as a Joe Bidan stump speech.

Sweet Caroline simply makes zero sense, and is so totally out of place, I'm stuck with a lot of other folks in the stands in wondering what the point is. It was, like the screech, another copied idea with no grass roots. If we are going to be pushed to sing something, can't they find something more humorous?

The "booster seats" they bolted onto the bleachers are silly. They are already faded, look tiny and uncomfortable, and I really don't see where the demand for them came from? Other than maybe trying to find a way to jack the price up a few more bucks.

I was bothered by the guy several rows behind me, near the top of Sec 13, who was spouting off about math theory. Perry Stadium is not a forum for x and y variables. If you must converse about such things, whisper.
I thought Kenny Tarmac was a myth.

That would be my drunk friend John who would just NOT shut up! He was arguing something or other with my cousin but she was just sitting there disagreeing...I was like, Just tell him he's right so he'll shut up!

Wow...that was an unexpected monday morning treat.

1. Anyone that ripped apart the band needs to grow up. Its been said, but a lot of work goes into what they do. Sure they screw up once in a while, but for Chri$t sake, who doesn't. Grow up! I have my issues with the band, that have been very publicly hashed out but they looked and sounded great far better than I can remember even when I was in it. So I offer congratulations to everyone involved with that!
And for those of you that don't like the Sweet Caroline gig (which I am on the fence about) you clearly didn't hear a large contingent of fans singing along and getting into it. Until that stope, that "tradition" won't either.

2. Coming back after a four year absence gave me a bit of an outsiders perspective. The pre-game atmosphere was awesome in the parking lots. Whatever that poor excuse for a tailgate area by the stadium was made me ask myself what the hell is wrong with the institutional planning! There should be way more in that area. You suck people in for the band and football team walking in and then they have nothing to do. Be Creative!

3. This notion that the football game is only about football is naive. It certainly is the nucleus of the day's activities, but ask anyone at the athletic department what would happen if there was ONLY a football game going on. I promise that attendance would be at 5000 or less. If you take away the band, the theme weekends (family weekend, homecoming etc) the pre-game activities, the majority of people would not show up. Its a conglomeration of things that makes a saturday at the Doyt effective. So FootballFan, I am with RUIT, you are on ignore.....perhaps you should go to Michigan or Notre Dame, I heard that they don't have anything that goes along with the football game. AND they hate their band too!

Get over it, I had a great time being back in BG, but if I raged against every little thing that bothered me on a given day, I would never leave my house....which reminds me I hate neighbors, we should get rid of those too!
I love my birds! Go Falcons, Go Jayhawks!!!

Agreed, 100%. It's the whole "package," if you will.

I am sure we would get 20,000 for the Toledo-BG band off with concession stands and everything. I would tailgate for that!!

If we had a football game with no band there would probably be 19,998.

What would happen if the band members just refused to play Sweet Caroline? Just look at the conducter bemused and do nothing. And please don't give me this overreacting result of lost scholarships and getting a B- for the course, because that just wouldn't happen.

The power of many is much greater than the power of one.

I was wondering the same thing. Don't think we'd see something like that, but... yeah.

I had thought at one point that the band should play "Free Bird" during the quarter break, but I didn't know if it could be shortened enough. This video proves how flipping awesome that would be...

It's got the sing-a-long allure of the AD's beloved "Sweet Caroline", with the bounce around party of Wisconsin's Jump Around (played without their naked bachelor party band). And certainly, the FMB can outrock Michigan.... RIGHT?

How about they playing anything from Metallica's Ride the Lighting CD to start the fourth quarter.

Lynard Skynard is as bad as Neil Diamond as far as I'm concerned. I like the Metallica idea or AC / DC or anything.

How about Enter Sandman?
