I heard from Brent Klassen and he and some other former Dakich era players plan to call in and give Dan a hard time from time-to-time. :-) All in good fun, of course!

I think I'll be listening online and at least give his show a shot. He could end up being the "next big thing" on radio! I believe his degree from IU is in broadcast journalism, isn't it? Anyone remember?

His degree was definitely something to do with broadcasting. I remember him mentioning it a few times on 1470 when he was on with Norm.

With his personality and love of sports, I seriously think he'll excel here if he's willing to make it his career. If he's just using it to bide his time for another coaching gig, then I'm not so sure, but if he dedicates himself to it, I think he'll be good.

I wonder if he'll ever mention how great the steaks at Al-Mar Lanes are...I can hear it now. "You know, that makes me think of a time, back when I was in Bowling Green. I couldn't see the freaking parking lot from my office, but man, those steaks at Al-Mar Lanes were awesome!"

So, did anyone hear Dan on Wamer's show today?? I got a recap of what he said, but didn't hear it first-hand. So if anyone heard it and wants to fill us in... please do. :-)

I doubt Wemer has the pull to do that, even though he sure loves to fawn all over Dakich. Wemer should take himself off the air if he wants to do any favors for NW Ohio.

I like Cowherd. He's hilarious and he speaks in realistic terms. Most people just don't like him cuz he hurts their feelings.

I only listened to about 15 minutes while running errands, but he sounded really good. Very conversational and upbeat, it was the best of his personality coming through. Of course, matching the first day excitement is a tough thing to do, but he got out of the gates well.

He even handled the dimwits that called in well. One guy said that IU football should have been 11-2 last year, if they had a better coach. DD showed great restraint in not smacking the guy around on the fact that Bill Lynch was hired to replace a coach that died three months before the season and still took them to their first bowl in 15 years.

I guess we'll see how it goes the first time a caller fires him up enough to make him put his coat on backwards.

I forgot it was on at first. I heard about 20 minutes. I heard the end of the IU football and the Chicago Cubs discussion. I think he did pretty well. He has a sidekick or producer chiming in. That station puts the othre shows on a podcast. Hopefully they dod the same for Dan.

I got to listen to about an hour and thought it was good, although I wasn't too into the discussion... (IU Football and Cubs baseball) They said he had Vitale on before I tuned in.

I got to listen to part of the show today. He had a couple BG stories. He talked about the incident in Buffalo when BG won the game and had to come out of the locker room and they ended up losing in OT.

He had a funny story about coaching his daughter. He coaches his daughters 6th grade CYO team and he had a girl quit the team. He had a good sense of humor talking about players that left his program at BG. She quit because she had her ears pierced and it is against CYO league rules.

Point of clarification - It is not against CYO rules to have your ears pierced. It against the rules to wear earrings though.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess she just had them pierced and could not take them out yet.
