Its really between Utah and BYU and the best thing to happen will be both to be undefeated going into the last game.

I wouldn't mind seeing an undefeated Tulsa take on an Undefeated Ball State.
I think BYU really is that good. Utah ... also very very good but they've not yet shown me they're BYU good. Boise I really think is special this year, even with a freshman QB, but he's still a freshman QB and is likely in any game to slip up. I still think Ball State will find a new and exciting way to slip up, maybe as grand as last year's demolition at the hands of CMU. Tulsa, I've not seen at all and I don't know too much about them, but C-USA's pretty good, so if they're undefeated at the end then I'll be likely to put them up there with the winner of BYU/Utah, as long as they're undefeated.

Looks like Utah or BYU have a good shot. The winner of their game at the end of the season should make it.

As long as the winner remains undefeated ...

Utah at New Mexico could be tough, and Utah at TCU seems like a landmine to me.
I don't think BYU will have problems moving the ball against TCU as UCLA can attest to that one. BYU at Air Force seems like a trap game with Utah looming.

wait, you are the same kid who said Michigan was going to be good...

but...

they are still getting worse.

I heard a guy from ESPN on the radio this morning say the same thing that I am saying....BYU won'tmake it because they don't play anyone..They don't have a game that will keep them from getting leap frogged, or overlooked on the BCS front. Boise has Oregon, South Florida had a shot when they beat Kansas ..BYU=no shot, no big games.

They might lose to Penn State on the road, but they beat Michigan State, and either or both Wisconsin and Illinois at home.
(still perfect on that one, we'll see if they gel or fall apart in November and that will determine the rest of the prediction.)

Time will tell on BYU - they're under the microscope because everybody wants to see them win big to make it in. If they keep winning big, that 59-0 win over UCLA will be more impressive than most if not all biggest wins for each BCS team at the end of the year. If they take a step back and win pedestrian style a la 07 Hawaii, they'll be out because we all saw what happened to them in the Sugar Bowl. If they keep winning big and stay undefeated, they'll finish in the top 12, likely top 10, maybe even top 5 like 06 Boise and they're in.

04 Utah - won big consistently, great defense, solid balanced offense = real deal
06 Boise - won big for the most part, great defense, solid balanced offense = real deal
07 Hawaii - commonly squeaked out close wins over not so good opponents, above average defense, unbalanced pass-happy offense = pretender
08 BYU - huge wins so far, great defense, solid balanced offense = formula for real deal.

We'll see ...

What? You call the little east a BCS conference? I call it a joke.

It is obvious you had nothing to dispute with my argument. So go vote for a terrorist or something, hussein.

so tell me...now that the season is 50% over...it is no longer early on...when do they get better? When they play Penn State? When they play Northwestern? OSU?? I am not seeing too many more wins here. I think Minnesota could beat them...if they play anyways.

Back to the original point since Tek ONCE AGAIN has tried to completely ruin a thread ... if you want to talk about how much you hate Michigan or whatever there's another thread for it.

So I believe I read that Tulsa is again #1 in the country in pass offense. Interesting ... lose their start qb and they don't miss a beat. They'll be a story to watch because they really play a light schedule outside of C-USA - here's their schedule plus results up to now.

Sat, Aug 30 at UAB W 45-22
Sat, Sep 6 at North Texas W 56-26
Sat, Sep 20 New Mexico W 56-14
Sat, Sep 27 Central Arkansas W 62-34
Sat, Oct 4 Rice W 63-28
Sat, Oct 11 at Southern Methodist 8:00 pm
Sat, Oct 18 UTEP 8:00 pm
Sun, Oct 26 UCF 8:00 pm
Sat, Nov 1 at Arkansas 2:00 pm
Sat, Nov 15 at Houston 5:00 pm
Sat, Nov 22 Tulane 3:00 pm
Sat, Nov 29 at Marshall 3:30 pm

Thus far, their offense is lighting up scoreboards, again, and their defense has been respectable. Last year their defense had two good games - against SMU (I think it was them) and of course us. This year, defense is by no means solid as a rock but certainly reliable thus far. And the only BCS team is Arkansas, which this year is the punching bag of the SEC. Tulsa's got a great chance to go undefeated, but if the BYU/Utah winner is undefeated along with Tulsa, guess which one gets left out of the BCS games ...
