thats funny. comparing brandon to saint urban or lord pete carroll is a joke. be serious. for every f##up those two have they have 20 gems and also have championships. This BGSU team is the most veteran and talented we've had in some time and they are not playing like a veteran team. we will not have a team with this potential for a while and coaching is screwing it up.tiznow wrote:You come out when they lose, but are not heard of when they win. The only thing you offer is "because of a bad coached team they suck". That doesn't really say too much. The Eastern loss was bad and inexcusable.poorlycoachedbgsu wrote:tiznow wrote:I noticed you didn't post after the Wyoming game.
and your point is??? well coached teams don't lose home games to far inferior opponents. period.
Saint Urban recently lost at home to an inferior opponent. He must suck too.
This Team is too good and experienced not to win the East...

Haven't you heard? It's called pessimistic-optimism, and is defined as a condition specific to Bowling Green and Cleveland Browns fans.1987alum wrote: hammb: You have a near-unique ability to balance pessimism and realism in a way that makes it seem optimistic at times. It's really a wonder to behold.

MACMAN
hammb wrote:What's lost in the moaning is that Saturday's loss really didn't effect our ability to win the MAC one iota. It was a crossover game. Every team in the East already has at least one league loss, so if we win out we still win the East. The only team we don't play (Temple) already has 2 MAC losses.
Win out, and we've got a better record than everyone else in the East, period. Saturday's game sucked balls, but we still control our own destiny. Now do I think a Brandon led team has the cajones to win out? Not really, but the fact is that it's still a distinct possibility. And I'd say right now we're the favorite in every one of our remaining games as well.
true, but the offensive plans go from restrictive and unimaginative to attacking at all points, solid. the balance of the season hinges on the offensive game plans, and of course the band
That's my main issue with how things play out. We seem to have our best offensive days when we "toss the playbook" aside and go at it. Lay our junk out on the field and make them stop us, as I like to say. First half and end of last year's Minny game, middle third of the Pitt game this year, numerous conference games. I don't think there are many teams in the MAC, and certainly not in the East, that can stop us if we go out and play like that. Unfortunately, we get in these stretches where we try to play ball control, and end up in closer games than we should.MACMAN wrote:the offensive plans go from restrictive and unimaginative to attacking at all points, solid.
Then again, years past have shown that scoring in 20 seconds eats our defense alive, so who knows... I'm just a faceless drone.

Yeah, my dad still talks about that '04 game against Marshall when we hung 56 I think on the Herd. My padre likes to comment about how the defensive players would barely celebrate a touchdown because they'd have to run back out on the field ... "man, we scored again? I have to go back out here?" Those guys hardly took a breather the whole game long.TG1996 wrote: Then again, years past have shown that scoring in 20 seconds eats our defense alive, so who knows... I'm just a faceless drone.

Actually, it was 56*... with an asterisk.MarkL wrote:...that '04 game against Marshall when we hung 56 I think on the Herd.
