I really believe the MCB can improve by adding more events for "fans" to enjoy. This would equate to more fans wanting to make the trip. The weather is bad, so they should look into using indoor facilities. Detroit has many indoor venues/sites to host events, it just takes some creativity on the part of the MCB. In the end, it would mean more money for Detroit, because fans would come to town a day or two early to enjoy festivities.

I do agree that whenever we get a MAC vs. Big10 matchup, the game will have more interest.

Mobile:

Can't understand the griping about rooms. I did another Web search and found a bunch.

BelieveNBG: Yes on the events. There's a strong base to work from, though, since it is obviously strong economically. It only stands to reason that the organizers will look for more ways to extend the bowl "experience" through additional events.

Student - they want to go to the easy trip. Also, TU - says it all in two initials.

A good start would be to take a page out of your book and find a way to utilize the Ford Museum and the Automotive Hall of Fame. They should maybe try to leverage that IMAX theatre. How about highlight reels of the two competing teams on the big screen? Anyway, I'm no marketing genius, but as you say, they certainly have the economic base to do some big things.

I think the GMAC Bowl is one of the best every year. The place sells out and the stands are packed. The city of Mobile goes overboard to make sure everyone going has a great time.

I'm sorry NIU feels slighted....they had UT at home and didn't get the job done. The Bowls pick who they want.

Just be glad the MAC got 5 bids this yr.
