I had a great day!!! I went to the gym for a kickboxing workout, met my wife and daughter for lunch, mowed a bunch of grass and we went to an estate sale to look for a kitchen table.

The weather was perfect for mowing grass, lunch was at the Star Diner, the table is pefect and it comes with a desk (kind of pricey though) and kickboxing was awesome...we did a ton of bag work today and I'm really getting the hang of landing kicks and punches that jolt the bag but don't make it swing all over...I was happy and productive today...it was awesome :-)

I caught the last drive of the first and second halves while coming back in from the yard for bathroom breaks ...reading what you all have written it doesn't sound like skipping the game was a bad decision.

After the EMU game I decided that if the team wasn't going to care, I certainly wasn't going to. Having my Saturdays back is great!!!!! :-)

What was with our players before the game running over to the Miami side after the team ran out of the tunnel. The entire team ran over and stared at the Miami players run out of their tunnel? Our entire team was yelling at them and we almost started a brawl before the game.

If that wasn't enough when our team runs to our sideline a bunch of our players proceed to knock over a Miami cheerleader that was carrying the huge "M" flag and stomp on the flag. One of our players actually tripped over the flag pole when attempting to step on the Miami flag. If the Redhawks weren't fired up to play before the game we sure gave them a reason to be fired up. What kind of sportsmanship is that? Why would a coaching staff/administration/conference allow that?

You made a wise decision today. I wish I would have followed your lead myself.

I have little reason to doubt your words Tricky.

I'm sickened.

We also ran to the southeast end at the Minnesota game. Once again I thought this display was pathetic and unprofessional. If we ever see this again, I hope somebody gets their butts kicked. As a longtime supporter of BG football, I absolutely hated it.

I was getting on here to make this same comment. They did it before the Minnesota game - called "lock the gate". It's supposed to be a symbol of locking the opponent inside the field so that we can have our way with them. I think it is more like a welcome gesture since our opponents have their way with us at DLP Stadium.

No clue why the entire team needed to go over there and act like the 1990's Miami Hurricanes. I was embarrassed as an alum of BGSU and I didn't even see them knock over the cheerleader and stomp on the flag.

Your point about giving Miami motivation was spot on. I would not have blamed Miami if they had come in today and laid down. That was not going to happen after our guys got them fired up.

The funniest part of it to me were the players that were pounding their chests and giving their trash-talking best. Hey guys - we've beat them 1 time in the last 10 years. How about you shut up and play the game before pounding your chests?

Funny thing is, we "lock the gate" and it gets Miami fired up, but then we don't get or stay fired up during the game.

Yeah, that's one of the personals that should be dealt with. We had a few that were called on someone making a play (a shady horse collar flag, the "hands to the head" call on one of the linemen, a glancing face mask that has to be called 15 this year in football's version of hockey's "contact to the head" whistle) But Briggs' belly flop in the first quarter and the shove after this run are the major discipliney ones that get to me.

Honest to GOd, if I see that Lock the Gate crap one more time, I swear I am going down there myself and unlock the damn thing and personally apologize to the other teams' fans.

If it EVER happens again, Brandon should be FIRED ON THE SPOT! I too, am sick and tired of this gangster like activity being condoned by our ADMINISTRATION and coaching staff!

Maybe Mr. Christopher was too busy hanging out with his Miami buddies before the game to witness it, just like after the game when he was out on the field hugging and smiling with Shane Montgomery!

Lock the gate?!?! What “gate?” We aren't locking $hit against teams that come into Perry Stadium! We're 0-3 at home....if anything we’re locking ourselves in our own house or we’re a "lock" to lose at home as we have been favored in all three home games and outright lost! I agree, we need to stop this crap, if anything we're simply firing up the other team which is the last thing we need to do. I'm not for it in the first place, and maybe I'd feel differently if we were actually winning at home - but we're not. We haven't won a home game since LAST YEAR so why don't we change our little pregame ritual to let's get an f'in win in front of our home fans for crying out loud. Maybe the "gate" should be locked on the Sebo Center and Perry Stadium and keep them out on the practice fields a while longer. You see basketball coaches lock their guys out of their home locker rooms like this all the time and those teams usually get the message.

Likewise and then some. I'm losing faith in the athletics department the longer they let a farce like Brandon continue.

You can make the stadium pretty, go off-scale high with the hype, but it doesn't mask the product on the field.
