PCBGSU,
These folks aren't here just for football or any other sport for that matter. If these folks (myself anyways) were only about football and winning they would be following other programs. I myself have reasons other than "championships" for following this team and going to games. So, please stop trying to make a federal case out of it by making yourself some kind superstar critic.
How does PCBGSU go about building support for this program? How do you currently support the future of this program? Advocate? Season ticket holder? Double secret alumi?

Why don't we just start over? You hate the coaches as well as about 99% of the people on the board. Lets talk about that, and not hate on each other.

Sounds like the attacks are coming from all directions. Unbiased? I don't think so.

Didn't know this was a board that had no 1st amendment rights associated with being a member. I hate to say it, but this site does have an inner circle which incorporates it's opinionated laws towards this football program. I, as many others have been attacked for posts that some didn't agree with. If you don't like what someone says, ignore the post/comment, move on with your life and post what you feel is better. None of what "poorlycoahced" said was derogatory or threatening to the other "five star falcon". We all love our Falcons, and some are disappointed in their performance more so than others and I think this gang mentality towards those we disagree with should stop. We're all posting like our team is playing right now! THINK ABOUT IT!

Do you know of one that does?

That took a while to come out...whenever the critical comments towards the team/coach start flying during a bad season we inevitably get the “there’s more to supporting our team than just winning” argument. When that argument comes out you know the seasons in the toilet.

Here is my take on this issue…I have been one of the more vocal critics of Coach Brandon on this site. Last time I checked this was a discussion board. That means you should expect a wide range of comments on both sides of every issue. Hell, that’s why I come here most every day is to hear people cheer, bitch, support, question and commiserate on all things sports related at my Alma Mater.

Having said that, can some people on this board go too far? Without a doubt! You can certainly argue that “Poorly Posted” might have crossed a line. But that’s not for me to say. I am just a guest here and the guy running the site will be the ultimate judge on that. I agree with “Poorly Posted” on his views of our football coach but not necessarily his communication style.

I also see people on this board that get red-assed at even the slightest hint of criticism of our players and coaches. They too need to check themselves and take the orange-colored glasses off as well. You can be critical and still love your school and support our teams.

I have been watching BGSU teams going back 30+ years to the Denny Stoltz and John Wienert eras. I’ve seen coaches and players come and go…good and bad. I love the Falcons and will support them to the day I die, so don’t ever question my loyalties even when I am being critical.

Remember, fan is short for fanatical and this is certainly a fan site.

I don't think too many people around here get "red-assed" at criticism of players or coaches. I think they just don't respect people who criticize without taking the time to post well thought out arguments.

I, personally, am probably seen as one of the most negative people on this board. I've been pretty public in my hatred of both Dan Dakich & Gregg Brandon, both of whom are/were well loved by much of the BG fanbase. I've been pretty vocal in criticizing (off the top of my head) Kevin Netter, Dusan Radawhatever, John Floyd, Marc Larson, Tyler Sheehan, and I'm sure some others that I'm forgetting as well.

However, one thing I try to do when I am going to criticize is say why. I also try to take the time to form coherent sentences and use punctuation, correct punctuation on a good day. What this board does not tolerate is poorly thought out arguments, poor grammar, and what appears to be hatred with no thinking behind it. This board is too intelligent for the posting methodology that PCBGSU has employed in his time here. I'm quite certain that I'm in agreement with most of his thoughts. I'm definitely in agreement with his screenname. That doesn't mean that I'm in agreement with how he's gone about saying it, though.

I agree with you hammb on some issues, but one thing I don't agree with you on is the fact that everyone here should have the time and meticulous inspection of punctuation, grammar and colloquialism required to post comments on a "football" board. I myself take time to pass a BG football to my son in COLORADO and work tons of hours on a job. Some may have the time to criticize others posts and make politically correct posts that they meticulously inspect before they hit the "submit" button. I myself don't have this type of time and effort to do this at the same time live through a dismal football team that I love. I just can't believe that the hate and isolation that I see on this board is so prevalent from posters with 3 falcon marks or more are generated towards those that don't have this same degree of rank. Although comments may not associate to the ideologies of the so called "veterans" here, we should all have the ability constructively respond to comments that we don't agree with. Don't forget the option to ignore posts that are not intellectually on your level can be ignored.

Sir, this is not a "FOOTBALL BOARD". This is a private board founded by our beloved leader in the memory of his father. He funds it. It is not in any way, shape, or form, related to the University, therefore, it is not a University, open to the world, "FOOTBALL BOARD. We have informal rules. Grammar and an attempt at proper punctuation have been a hallmark of this board and our attempt to thank AZZ for giving us a place to express opinions. He, and most others among us, favor coherent posts.
We have corrected each other for years, and will continue to do so to those who pass by.

If you don't like the way we play in our sandbox, take your toys and go home. Or hang around with us for a while and share nicely.
