Sears Craftsman here...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

 That's "tool" for those of you still slow today. Since I and a few others were called out by that particular name, I'd like to throw down some thoughts.

I've spent the last two days fuming. I, like everyone else here, am ticked about what was a promising season slipping away. No question we have problems and issues. I certainly thought we'd be a better team than we've shown the last few weeks. I felt very good after that 2-2 start in the non Conf schedule.

Certainly Coach B needs to be held accountable as does the entire staff. The players need to be held accountable. It's their performance on the field the determines outcomes and it's the staff's job to make sure they are in position to succeed. That hasn't happened in 2 of the last 3 weeks. The playcalling at times has been bad...the intensity is in question. When Sheehan stated in the Blade "It's the little things like showing up late to team meetings", that concerns me. There's more to this than I think I want to know.

As much as it pains me to say it, I'm at the crossroads with the program. I have always supported Coach B and think he's done a good job here. But, on the other hand, when the same things keep happeing over and over, I gotta call it out. I wouldn't be a real fan if I didn't. There have been times I've wanted to call out the staff in the past but didn't. Don't know why...I was that way with Dakich as well.

There are a lot of Brandon bashers on here and it's your right to be one. Many in the anti-Brandon crowd bring valid points to the table. I think you guys have every right to be ticked off. I also think the Brandon supporters bring valid points to the table. It's the inconsistency that is killing this team right now cuz there is no doubt we have the horses to win the East and play for the title.

I, along with many others, invest time and money because we care about these kids and program. It kills me to see the lack of emotion and execution the last couple weeks...and the discipline? There are no excuses for that. PLEASE...STOP THE "LOCK THE GATE" IDEA NOW. It doesn't help and shows no respect to our opponents. The 0-3 home record is totally unacceptable. It makes me sick we haven't won at home all year.

I can't make the NIU game since I start my new job next Monday and don't have the extra funds...our furnace needs repaired and I guess heating the house is a bit more important, I think, than getting to that game right now. It's been 57 degrees in our house for the last week. But damn right I'll be at the last four games supporting BG. It simply isn't in my blood to cut and run. Whether we turn it around and do what we did last year remains to be seen. This week is going to be a tough one...NIU is vastly improved and has, IMO, the best home field advantage in the MAC these days.

Well...I think a couple days away will do me some good so I hope you all have a good day. I have to prepare myself to get used to wearing ties at work and have never had to in the past...and I hate those freakin things.

Hope we get our stuff together and win down the stretch...GO FALCONS!

I had to do that when I changed jobs too man. It sucks, but you'll get used to it. Good Luck with the new gig, see ya on 11/1. We may be the only people out there, but we'll still have fun :)

Ties stink. I mostly wear T-shirts and khakis. I love my job for that reason alone.

Wearing a tie is like having a noose around your neck. A briefcase is the equivilent of a ball and chain. IMHO.

Freak, I feel your pain. A lot of us do right now.

We go tie from Oct. 1 until April 1, makes you appreciate casual Fridays.

Might I suggest a tie:

Still debating whether I want to attend the only other game I'll be in the state for: the TU game the day after Thanksgiving. I'll be in Akron, not sure if I want to drive to the Glass Bowl on Friday and turn around and drive back to Akron that night. . . Luckily ticket availability won't play in to my decision...

I'd been wearing a tie (and suits and braces, etc.) for years. Then I thought, you know what, I'm the boss. From now on, it's business casual. Saves me $$$ on dry cleaning, etc. Only wear the suit for meetings with the big poobahs.

Of course, I have a BG tie - the orange one with the university seal. I might actually break down and get the Space Ghost one, too, just to have all my bases covered.
