I was way more disappointed in 2005. I wasn't yet as jaded then as I am now about the current regime. We had Omar coming back and an improving defense, and we started off so strong in the first quarter against Wisconsin. I had BCS dreams. It all just fell apart from there.

j4h - I'd have to agree with you about being more disappointed about 2005. Coming off that electrifying 2004 season with Omar at the helm, I think a lot of us figured we'd easily waltz to a MAC title and, as you suggest, possibly bust the BCS party.

I was optimistic this year, but had plenty of reservations - we had to totally rebuild our offensive line, our RB depth evaporated quickly and our D-line seemed to thin out before our eyes. There were too many "ifs & buts" to feel really comfortable about how the season would pan out.

You can't fully judge a season until it's over.

Exactly! We could probably go as bad as 3-2 in the last 5 games and still win the East provided we beat Buffalo, Kent and Ohio for the three W's.

2005 was a much more disappointing season. Like others have stated, we were pretty stacked all around and didn't have the question marks like this 08 team did coming into the season.

We lost Omar in the 2nd quarter of the WMU game and lost, 45-14. Then, we lost to Akron 24-14 the next week. Going into the home finale against TSUN, we were 6-4, 5-2 MAC. All we had to do was win and we still would have played NIU for the MAC title. We lost 44-41 in 2OT. As bad as it sucked to lose that game, it was a great game between two evenly matched teams.

We finished 6-5.... :x

This season isn't over yet...but we better get a win tomorrow or the fat lady will be warming up.

That was my first ever BG game, I came up to visit campus and stay with my sister who was a sophomore at the time, I was a senior in HS. The game sucked but I was hooked on BG from that point forward. That game brings back some good memories for me

2005 was a bigger disappointment. I had less expectation they would suck. Now I just anticipate it and watch the nightmares come true.

And looking back I actually think it is amazing Brandon couldn't have done more with what he had.

I remember sitting in a tent watching the UT game on TV. It ended near 7am Iraq time, and the generator ran out of fuel in the first OT. By the time they got it re-fueled, it was the last play of the 2OT. Yep, very disappointing.
