I thought so too. I want PSU to run the table and go to the BCS title game but at the same I am not sure if they deserve it. It is hard to say how good they really are. Like what he said, you can't blame PSU. Blame the system. After all the times PSU has been screwed out of a national championship in Paterno's tenure, I feel good for them.

I like PSU and Paterno despite their off the field problems. Heck BGSU has plenty of off the field problems so I can't point fingers.

I'm ok with PSU getting to the BCS championship also. The column, while making some valid points was a little disingenuous when implying that it's the Big Televen's choice not to play a championship game:

"Don’t even consider a conference championship game that might result in a loss for a contender. It keeps shooting the Big 12 in the foot, doesn’t it? Why play 13 games when the pollsters don’t punish you for playing only 12?"

If I recall correctly, a conference needs at least 12 teams broken into divisions to play a championship. A rule put in place for lower divisions, but which FBS teams use for an additional pay-day.
