I'm surprised we got the attendance we have been getting with these prices.

When I came up for the Minnesota game, the weather guy said the temperature was going to be 75 and sunny. It only got up to 74 and I saw a cloud in the distance.
Are you two serious!?!?!

I'm guessing your take is that $18 is not that much for a football ticket and maybe it isn't for Div.1 college football but our product ain't worth that and hasn't been for a long time. Wasn't just a few years ago that game day tickets were like 10 or 12 bucks at the most? $18 just seems like a rather high price hike from what they were. In all fairness to the Athletic Dept. they were probably expecting great things on the gridiron from BG this year and who' would've guessed that we would stink up the joint royally.TG1996 wrote:When I came up for the Minnesota game, the weather guy said the temperature was going to be 75 and sunny. $18 is not a high price for a D1 football ticket. Especially when you consider that almost every game has some sort of deal attached to knock a few bucks off here and there. And forget the comparisons with Big 10 schools, I bet BG games are at or slightly below the average regular MAC ticket price, too.

When it was cheaper, you sat outside until halftime. Now the price goes up and you complain? Please explain that to me...Falconboy wrote: I'm guessing your take is that $18 is not that much for a football ticket and maybe it isn't for Div.1 college football but our product ain't worth that and hasn't been for a long time. For comparison's sake, football tickets here in Charleston, for Div. 1-AA The Citadel, range from $15-$25 per their website.Falconboy wrote:I'm guessing your take is that $18 is not that much for a football ticket and maybe it isn't for Div.1 college football but our product ain't worth that and hasn't been for a long time. Per BG's website single game tickets range from $12-$24.

I believe Falconboy only sat outside until halftime of men's basketball games, not football games. But I'm not 100% positive about that.Metz wrote:When it was cheaper, you sat outside until halftime. Either way, I'm sure the athletic department set the prices with the expectation that we would be fairly good this season. That hasn't materialized, and the prices look too high now. Its a tough judgment call to make, especially in an economy like this.
But it would really help if we could win a friggin game at home.

Exactly. If had won our home games (all of which were there for the taking, btw) and our only losses were at Top 15 Boise State and a close one at a surprising NIU, $18 would be the deal of the century. It's all perspective.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Either way, I'm sure the athletic department set the prices with the expectation that we would be fairly good this season. EDIT: It's also a non-Toledo year, which usually accounts for 20K seats at $30ish a pop. They made a bunch of that at the Minnesota game, but only sold those in the low $20's and I still don't think that was as "guaranteed" of a crowd as the UT game is.
EDIT 2 (Electric Boogaloo): Apparently, the best seats (whatever PRIME chairback reserved is) are $24. Adults can buy a bench seat for $14. Don't know why aaron was charged $18, maybe we had a UT grad working the ticket booth and it was too cold to take his shoes off.

Also... "program ain't been good for a long time"? Josh Harris is on the phone, he begs to differ.

Complaining about the ticket prices for BG football games is ridiculous. I pay about the same for my season tickets as I would pay for one game at OSU, UM, etc. I don't know how our prices compare to the rest of the MAC, but I'm pretty sure they're in line with, or less than, tickets to the Glass Bowl.
TG just said that the prime chairback reserve seats are $24. I think those are the seats on the West side between the 40s (Sec 11 & 13). So you can get the best seats in the house for $24, and they have a chairback, and we're complaining about pricing? Please.
I sit just above those chairback seats and my entire season ticket package was only $185 for the pair. That's $18 per seat, right on the 50 yard line, on the aisle, towards the top of the West side.
I just don't see how we can complain about the ticket prices to these games...they're a great deal. Even with the lousy team we've been blessed with thus far, they're still a fair deal. Now if you want to complain about $3 for a 20 oz Coke, or $3 for a box of popcorn, I'll be right with ya. The concession prices are insane since Gladieaux (sp?) took over. Ticket prices are still a bargain...also let's not forget that $5 for parking is pretty much the least amount you'll pay anywhere, and if you get out there early enough you may avoid it altogether.

Not me.
The Freaklings wanted to go to the game at the glASS Bowl this year....I can't believe how UT jacks up the prices for this game...It pains me to say I will be dropping $100 on THREE tickets. Gee, is this the NFL??
BTW, I will have one extra ticket for the Kent game tomorrow for anyone that needs a ticket.
