The main owner is a high school friend. Haven't talked to him in a while but I'd bet it's open that night. He's done a few freebies for larger groups in the past but don't expect a lot. Should be able to bring in your own food perhaps and some drink specials. I'm sure he'd like a heads-up anyway. Ask for Bob.

Whatever happened to going to 'Downtown' and drinking 10 beers....it will be nostalgic just like what we used to do during finals week when we should have been studying Acct. 221 and Stat 212. What was up with all those garphs in Econ 202.

No way in hell I'm sitting out in the cold to watch a game on TV. Not when I can go to my home or any bar to watch on a big screen, with a cold beer, and heat.

I'm not sure I'll be home soon enough that day to host anybody at our place. So as long as its a non-smoking venue, I'm up for a bar-like setting.

I hate defaulting to the place, but Fricker's wouldn't be too bad. Enough space to spread out, yet still be in the same room, assuming we use the radio-show room.

We should figure out who is going to the game, get their cell phone numbers. Have somebody relay heckles from BG! Or at least somebody with a picture phone.

I've got a bunch of coconuts and some wire. Now all we need is a fat guy in a blue shirt, a skinny klutz in a red shirt, a hot brunette, a redhead, and a retired couple.

Wait, what are we doing?

italian place in downtown bg

Post by fulch »

What might not be a bad place to watch the GMAC bowl would be the italian restaurant in downtown BG (cucina di betta, I think it's called). I'm pretty sure that almost no one knows that they even have a bar upstairs, so you guys would practically have the place to yourselves. I'm not sure if they have a big screen or even that many tv's, but someone could certainly go check it out. I'm sure they'd be pretty open to a few dozen (or more) people showing up to watch the game. Another nice thing is that it's non-smoking. Anyway, it's worth a thought.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
