GB getting a contract extension
Of course *this* year, running the RB into the line like we did in those Temple games would probably be considered a trick play.

Its a bowl game. If you were a senior, wouldn't you want to be out there till the end. Also if I was trying to shoot for a record it should not depend if my opponent is up to the challenge. What should they have just stop playing a few drives to make the score look more fair. Oh wait! We should have YMCA rules. Once a team is up by 35, the game ends. Or maybe even a continuous clock when one team is up 28. Grow up guys this is college football and it was a bowl game, we blew end of story. If we were playing for a shot at the BCS, we would be more than happy to run it up against some of these opponents. Besides UCF cost Tulsa the CUSA title last year. You don't thing revenge factored into it. If Florida gets a chance to run it up against Georgia, are they going to pass it up. I want the best coach for this team, and its not GB. If we were to look for a new guy I would start with Malzahn. That is just my take. I could be like some and start multiple theads saying this without ever supporting my argument , but I for now I will just keep it here.

I'll agree with you there. The rest? Still respectfully disagree.daspollak wrote:I could be like some and start multiple theads saying this without ever supporting my argument , but I for now I will just keep it here.

Totally agree. Gary Darnell said in 2004, BG could have named their score after going up 49-0 at the half...we scored ONE FG in the 2nd half. Temple? We ran basic running plays up the middle with our 3rd string and they still couldn't stop us.1987alum wrote:Flip, TG: Spot on. I was at the 52-0 WMU blowout and the first 10-TD display @ Temple. In both instances, GB had the second-, third- and fourt-string in early in the third quarter and, offensively, took the air out of the ball. You can't make an accusation of running up the score stick on Brandon.Flipper wrote:TG...I don't know why people continue to bring up that "we ran up the score..." BS.. Every time it comes up, a simple review of the facts knocks it right down again. In his post game comments, WMU's coach made a point of thanking GB for calling off the dogs at halftime when his time was down by a gazillion. We took a knee inside Marshall's five yard line.... Hell...we were passing up FG tries in the 4th qtr of some games last year so it wouldn't look like we were trying to run it up...
We've won some ball games by very lopsided margins under GB, but I nver once thought we were being dicks about it like that jagoff down in Tulsa.
The Tulsa putz, on the other hand, basically admitted that he purposely ran up the score so he could notch a spot in a record book. Classy.
Graham ran it up....peroid. He'll get his someday.

Aside from the thread, this has nothing to do with wanting Gregg Brandon to be our head coach. But since you insist, then I'm definitely not calling for his head, but I can see the (more well-formed) arguments for the program moving a different direction.daspollak wrote:TG1996, do you still want to see GB as our head coach, and if not who do you think would be a good replacement?
And, until there is a moving van outside the head coach's office, I totally disagree with naming a replacement, or even creating a wish list of potential coaches.

Oh come on this is a message board, where everyone could be a top AD, coach, or player.
I did not want GB to be fired until last week's game. The sad play calling and lack of drive in the players has made me want to see a new man at the helm. Besides its always nice to dream a little.

Lane Kiffin? He's considering the 'Cuse and I think we're in better shape than that program right now. since we're wishingTG1996 wrote:Okay, then Doyt Perry.daspollak wrote:Oh come on this is a message board, where everyone could be a top AD, coach, or player.I did not want GB to be fired until last week's game. For the record we could lose out and we will not can GB. If he turns this season around it will be a miracle, but it will have been somewhat of a wasted season. I just want to see a return to what we had under Urban. Sorry he was the coach my first two years here, and he struck a chord with this university. I actually say students who were OSU fans excited about BG games. Now I think that is lost.

A lot of UT fans thought Tommy Boy would be safe beating Michigan too.daspollak wrote:Well many of you got your wish with Tulsa losing. I still like the offense they run, but with GB getting the win his job will be safe. Let us hope he remembers what works for the game against Ohio.
