Sadly , were talking about Gregg Brandon here, who' forgets everything good that works in games. I fully expect to see more retarded playcalling next week after today's creativity.

Now now, we do play OU who has gift wrapped games this year. However I expect GB to be in a Christmas mood, and return the giving this year.

Yeah. It's Kent State. The same Kent State that blasted a Miami(OH) team we muddled through a game against and lost. And they're no EMU, either. Can't you folks at least FAKE some pride for an apparent Falcon victory?

Hard to get excited for a game where we beat a 2-7 Kent State team that rolled up 478 yards of total offense on us. We expected so much from this veteran-led team this year.

But you can get excited about the emergence of Jason Rice who was carrying linebackers on his back. I know they are only Kent State linebackers but 215lbs. of feathers still weighs as much as 215lbs. of Florida Gators.

It is also nice to get excited about how the playbook opened up. Yes they executed them against a poor 2-7 Kent State team but we weren't even looking to call those plays against a worse Miami team.

I'm not trying to hand out the Kool Aid here but there are nice things to take away from this game.

I didn't watch the game, but that Kent State team had about 120 yards of offense and no points at halftime. The second half was run out the clock time.

I'm not asking anyone to buy MACC tickets here, just applaud a very good effort by the Falcons and just MAYBE be a little excited for one weekend.

I did watch the game and the way Jason Rice carried the ball, carried defenders, changed his pace and found the crease was worth the $7.95 it cost me to watch it...

Additionally, the designed runs for Tyler Sheehan were a great change of pace. Usually he picks stuff up when plays break down or the occasional draw, but he was running the ball with urgency today. Also, Chris Wright is back on the radar and Scheidler's soft hands were on display again.

That is what I thought the difference was on offense today. Early in the game they actually called QB designed runs, ala the Josh Harris era. That is how the spread is supposed to work and it did today.

But I do have to say, I had the audible-QB run play called the second time we ran it and the third as well. All three times, the two 'slot' receivers actually moved further off the line of scrimmage when the audible was called. So I saw them move the second time, I called the 'fake quick screen, QB draw' and that is what they ran all three times when they audibled to that formation. If I can pick that out in the stands, I'm sure an opposing coach will be ready for it next week.

You forget who the opposing coach is next week. All we need is to set up a margarita stand in the parking lot before the game and we're set. :-D

I found the game on TV when I finally got home, and I watched the end of it. Honestly, I can say I was eager to get home just to listen to the game on the radio, so maybe there's a little bit of pride and support for this team deep down in me. I just can't shake it, which is good.

I was extremely impressed with Jason Rice. Honestly, I couldn't figure out who the guy was at first. Perhaps I'll have to make time to come see the Buffalo game, simply because it'll be the last home football game that I'll see as a student.

The key to the game today was that they called ALL the plays with Sheehan at QB. Rather than bringing Turner in (hope he's alright, left with an apparent Right arm injury) whenever they wanted to run the ball. Tyler is not a great runner, but KSU was not prepared for it and he continuously had huge holes to run through. Rice was a welcome addition to the gameplan as well...I'll be anxious to see if he can follow up his performance next week.

The defense was absolutely shredded in the 2nd half by Edelman, but luckily we built a big lead in the first half. KSU is not a team that is really capable of coming from behind. Still, the defense really struggled to tackle Edelman, they have to be disappointed with their 2nd half effort.

I think we were rushing him too hard. He is a HORRENDOUS thrower. Rush two, drop seven in coverage and have two spys.

Such a hard time Kent had him deep returning punts! It went for a touchback, but you know you're in hard times when you put your QB to return punts.
