I don't think any of us should be upset about a win right now, especially our first home win. BUT, if you were meaning that this somehow vindicated GB from being a bad coach, and the fact that he still needs to be let go, then you are wrong.
Not to speak for him, but I think you're reading alot into what he said. All I took from his comment was that some people here will only focus on negatives, even after a win.
I think most of us are just fine with a win. It is taking a single win and white washing the season that folks would have issue with. I personally noted they'd have at least one really good game yet this year, and I'm still not sure that was it. I am hoping that prove to be the UT game, since that is the only game left I care about now. They can win or lose the rest, but if they blow it against UT again, well, it will suck worse than the rest of the season already has.

The new announcer is Jason Griffin from 1470 in Toledo, he hosts a talk radio show on Saturday mornings and also does play by play for all home Mud Hens games on BCSN. He's a broadcasting and communications major from Miami, but we won't hold that against him. He did an excellent job Saturday, kept the crowd excited and was very prompt in his calls on the field.

Driving by the stadium, I rolled down my windows and could hear the different announcer. Just one more reason to return for the Buffalo game.

I noticed it, he seemed to do a much better job than the previous announcer. The only screwup I noticed was after Rice's first carry I said, "Who the heck is #27!?" The announcer announced his name as Giovanni something or other. Looking at the roster I can hardly fault him seeing as how Rice is listed at #35 and Giovanni Fillari is listed at #27.

After the very first carry he got it correct from there on out. I cannot fault a guy for not being familiar with a RS Frosh who has recently changed his number and making his first appearance at RB all season long. Other than that one mixup he did a very good job...he was noticeably better than his predecessor.

They dumped the other guy? No disrespect to him, but ROCK ON! I may have to come back for the UB game. Is it on a Saturday?

Maybe this wasn't such a lousy season. The infernal screech gone, and the PA dude. If only I could hope for a hat trick!

At one point I heard him call one of our guys Joe Long? or something along those lines, and many of the people around me heard the same thing...we dont have a Joe Long on our team as far as I know. There was also a block in the back flag and he called it a holding. Other than that though, not too bad.

Actually, he said "Michael Long"...there IS a Michael Long on the roster, #48, a LB from Cleve. Hts..... Since Long wasn't listed as a participant, I'm guessing his spotter maybe saw a wrong number on the field and gave him the name. Most of these guys have someone spotting for them as it's hard to announce and see numbers at the same time, if you want to make it fairly quick. (I used to spot games for a good friend who announced Garfield Hts. HS games and he always thanked me for helping him on it).

If that's the case...good move! Jason also holds a high school football show on fridays - the best around.

He's got a good voice.

We will be a power again!

Go Falcons!
