Bad Nick News

Post by bgbill »

from:http://www.sent-trib.com/index.php?opti ... Itemid=104

"Bowling Green goalie Nick Eno remains out indefinitely, the result of a high ankle sprain suffered during practice in late September.

The sophomore, who hasn't played this season, won't practice for at least the next two and maybe three weeks, Falcon hockey coach Scott Paluch said Tuesday."

Take care, Nick. We're all hoping you recover fully and get back between the pipes.

I noticed he was favoring his ankle quite a bit last weekend just walking, this would definitely explain that.

High ankle sprains are some the hardest injuries to kick because they can linger for so long. Jimmy has been very solid for us this year, so in that regard we're still fine. A speedy recovery to Eno though, we'll need him down the stretch.

Jimmy has been Jimmy for us this year which means about 50 good minutes of hockey a night. Until our second line (Cepis, Kantola and Perkin) gets going we can't afford to give up any weak goals.

By the way, who ever thought that Cepis would be SECOND line this year?

I don't understand the lines, either. Maybe trying to get some sort of balance line to line?

I actually was referring to the production of the two lines. I'm sure if Cepis and mates were doing what Sexton's line is doing they would be the first line.

Cepis's line is the line that other teams are cueing on. That is what is allowing the other line to score so much. Once teams realize they are a threat, Cepis, Perkin, and Kantola won't be getting the attention they are now. Watch how much open space Cepis gets compared to Sexton and Solway. It's balancing the lines out. I think it's helping. Most teams have one line that plays against the other team's "top" line, or in our case, Cepis's line. He even said that he was gonna have a hard time this year because of his success from last year. He's the one getting the attention of teams. Truthfully, I don't care who scores, as long as we're finding the back of the net and winning games.

cepis hasn't been playing as well as I expected (yet)...I'm sure the other teams are keying on that line...

I know, I know. But think how much better the team would be doing if both lines were producing. Remember the Edmonton Oilers in the 80s with Gretzky and Messier?

You win as a team and you lose as a team. Surely every young man on the team is aware of that. I have faith that they will find a way to win together. Jake will get his mojo back with his line mates and they will find a way together!
