Current FBS Power Rankings 11/10

Post by bgsufalcon24 »

The MAC is doing pretty well in the rankings this week, at least at the top. Ball State is ranked 14th in the BCS and AP poll, while Western Michigan is 32nd and Central Michigan is tied for 33rd.

Here's where they stand in the CBS Sportsline 120:
Ball State - 15th
Central Michigan - 42nd
Western Michigan - 43rd
Akron - 71st
Buffalo - 72nd
Temple - 89th
Northern Illinois - 91st
Bowling Green - 92nd
Toledo - 105th
Kent State - 108th
Ohio - 111th
Miami - 115th
Eastern Michigan - 116th

Mean Place - 82.3
Median Place - 91.0

Clearly, the losses to Miami and Eastern Michigan are killing us. But even so, I'm shocked at the gap between us and Akron/Buffalo. Looks like we could be in position to move way up if we beat Buffalo and Toledo. Central Michigan and Western Michigan, IMO, if they win out should be in the top 25 or right on the doorstep. Especially CMU, since one of their losses was to Georgia, and they will have beaten Ball State if they win out. Ball State, if they win out, should be going to a BCS game. Period.

I would love to see Ball St. in a BCS game, but they do not deserve to go. Their schedule has been too easy this year. Name their best non-conference game, Indiana. Boise to me is the best of the non-BCS, beating Oregon at Oregon.

One point to make here. There are 119 teams in FCS. And we lost to #115 and #116 :smt073

Well, you can't have a Mode when there's only one team per number.

I suppose I could've broken out upper and lower quartiles... :D

Oh, and Bgwarrior, there are 125 teams in the FCS (I-AA). If you were talking about the FBS (I-A), there are 120 teams in that division. Nice try though.

The bottom line is that Boise and Utah are in. The Big East doesn't have a BCS-worthy team, so at least 2 non-BCS schools are in.

Oregon was also starting their third-string QB that game and were down to their fourth-string before halftime. Utah easily has the best resume of the non-BCS teams this year.

Actually, if they don't have a team in the top 16 of the final BCS standings, the conference loses its automatic bid. Which as it stands right now, would happen as Pittsburgh at #21 is their top team.

The ACC is also in danger of having this happen, as North Carolina at #16 is their top team.

You do realize then that the pollsters will find a way to make those two teams #15 and #16 just so they don't lose their automatic bids.

Yup, but thats another place in time. In another world. A big-time win like that means nothing if your not going to back it up. Hell we had the schedule this year to make a BCS game. We went undefeated, they couldn't deny us. But, uh........ya. Maybe next year?? hahaha i make myself laugh.
