Well played.Lord_Byron wrote:Rather than the "head-to-head" scenario being discussed, in keeping with recent history, the MAC is much more likely to implement the "chicken-with-no-head" scenario.
In this tie breaker, representatives from each school sit in various parts of a room. A chicken is decapitated in the middle of the room and the school to which it runs without its head is declared the winner.
What do I need to be hoping for?

True Hammb...there are no excuses for losing to EMU and Miami at home this year. NIU was an 8 pt fave over BG a few weeks ago.hammb wrote:Wouldn't it be fun to have a team that won enough of these games that we didn't have to worry about silly tie breakers? I mean we've been favored in every MAC game we've played this year, and yet here we are sitting at 3 conference losses.
The bottom line is we still have a pretty good shot to win the East...and that's all that matters to me at this time.

My bad, forgot about the NIU game. But, as you said, losing to Miami & EMU is inexcusable.Falconfreak90 wrote:True Hammb...there are no excuses for losing to EMU and Miami at home this year. Yeah, we've still got a chance to win the East, and I'd love to see it happen, but if we don't get in because of some tiebreaker or something we have nobody to blame but ourselves. It's very frustrating to watch a team continuously play below it's expectations.
Hopefully we'll be fortunate enough to get into the MACC, but I cannot help but feel as though NIU will destroy us if we do.

I meant Ball State, that's what I get for typing up a quick reply and actually trying to get some work done.Redwingtom wrote:I assume you meant either CMU, WMU or Ball Statehammb wrote:Hopefully we'll be fortunate enough to get into the MACC, but I cannot help but feel as though NIU will destroy us if we do.

I would not rule out Temple just yet. The winner of this division just might end up 4-4 and Temple has 2 games left at 2-4 currently. Both games are at home against Eastern and Akron which are winnable games.WhoDeyBG wrote:Well Temple lost Wednesday night, so if there is a tiebreaker needed, it will be between any combination of BG, UB and Akron, who all have/will played each other. Thank you Kent State.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it is virtually impossible for Temple to play in the MACC. They would need some crazy things like Ohio beating Akron, Kent winning at Buffalo, BG to lose twice just to get into a three way tie with Akron and Buffalo and I don't think they even win the tie-breakers then.

And Temple had, what, 22 starters back this year? Way to underachieve.Redwingtom wrote:I would not rule out Temple just yet. Actually Freak, if my math is correct and the MAC head-to-head tiebreaker is not truly a head-to-head tiebreaker, Temple cannot reach the MACC. The best they could hope for is a multiple team tie for first. The best they can end up with is 1 win against any of the teams they might end up tied with and that would be Akron, and they cannot end up in a tie with only Akron.Falconfreak90 wrote:And Temple had, what, 22 starters back this year? You have made that point before. How about something new? You are just as annoying as the posters who constantly attack the coach.cowboyjoe wrote:We shouldn't have lost to Eastern and Miami at home and Florida should have never lost to Mississippi at home and Notre Dame should not be having the records they are having with top 5 recruiting classes the last 3 years and a coach that makes close to 4 million a year.

Does this mean that more people are going to sit in the Doyt with me on a most likely cold November Friday?
No matter how we've gotten here, we're on the cusp of winning the MAC East. This team absolutely needs to go for the jugular right away against UB on the 21st! I will be there to support them next Friday.
