Question about Penn St. vs. Mich St.
If Michigan State were to beat Penn State in the final game of the season, who would be the Big 10 Champion? I would think it would be Ohio State since they beat Michigan State but I thought I heard someone say it would be Michigan State. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Have you been watching college football this season? It could happen. Highly unlikely, but not impossible. That's all I'm sayin'.goofyeuph wrote:San Fran Falcon wrote:Assuming that they don't lose to Illinois or Michigan.Falcon137 wrote:Ohio State would get the Rose bowl bid but they would share the Big10 title.

I hate the Buckeyes, but that is still hilarious

I'll admit with working every other weekend (and working nights no less) I havn't watched as much college football as I'd like. I also misread your original post. I thought you said 'and' not 'or'. However there has also been very few games this year that have surprised me. The OSU Illinois game could go either way, but I see the Buckeyes pulling it out. Might be late, might be close, but I see them winning. As much as it pains me to say it, I don't see Michigan winning another game all year. Yes I know how big the U of M and OSU rivalry is, and of course any thing can (and usually does) happen. BUT...Michigan may be the only team in the country less consistent that BG. I have zero faith in my Wolverines to win a big game. I'm hoping that Rodriguez can turn things around in his second season, as is his MO, but I'm also concerned that he might not make it to his second season.

Everyone is assuming the Mich/osu game will be a blowout but I really don't know. I've only seen osu play a few good games all year: Youngstown St if you really want to count that, Michigan St, Northwestern, and maybe Minny and Penn St (their defense played solid against Penn). My point...OSU has been inconsistent a lot this year, too.goofyeuph wrote: As much as it pains me to say it, I don't see Michigan winning another game all year. If the Michigan team that showed up last week and for the first half of their Penn St game heads to the Shoe this year, I think it could be a closer than most assume, regardless which OSU team is there to great them. If the OSU team I watched rail Michigan St shows up and Michigan is playing like they have a majority of the season, I don't know how long my tv will be staying on!
Coach Rodriguez isn't going anywhere. If he does get the boot, that's just silly. You can't run a team without a quarterback and they just don't have a solid one right now.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!VDub26Falcon wrote:Breaking news guys...they are canceling the Michigan/OSU game...seems everytime the Michigan bus tries to head to Columbus, it can't get past Toledo.
If Michigan were to go into Columbus and beat Ohio State, it would be without a doubt the biggest upset of the year in Division I-A. The only way I could see it possible is if OSU totally takes the game for granted, which almost never happens in rivalry games.

Are you sure? I think that would have only been if there was a three-way tie (if PSU would have beat Iowa and then lost to MSU). I believe the first tie-breaker, between two teams, is head to head. The tie-breaker that affects FBS teams is non-conference record. The Big 10 does not include games versus 1-AA teams in that case. Both OSU and PSU played 1-AA teams this year, MSU did not so they would have won that tie-breaker.VDub26Falcon wrote:Real news this time...OSU does NOT hold the tiebreaker...apparently the first tie-breaker is whether or not you played all FBS teams during the regular season...OSU played YSU, therefore, MSU holds the tiebreaker.
