BG predictions for upcoming tournament?

Post by BGSU33 »

We’ve got our work cut out for us going into this tournament without our top two returning scorers from last year, plus a third player. I know it’s going to give our other players a chance to see more minutes and maybe a few others some time they normally wouldn’t see. But taking away your two leading scorers is never a good thing and not having three players, including two who would see significant minutes, cuts off our depth right at the knees. That’s also disappointing because we’ve had almost no depth for what seems like five seasons or so now. Initially, I looked at this tournament and felt we could probably go 2-1 with our best shot at wins over Concordia and Georgia State. But that was before the three suspensions. Now, I’m hoping just to get a win up there. However, as recent past history has suggested, we’ve actually had success against the host teams of these tournaments beating Virginia Tech and Cincinnati, but have struggled with some of the other opponents also playing in them. Getting a win over Georgia State would be a great way to open the season and see where we go from there. But the next two games, we’re going to have the crowds against us versus host Minnesota and home town underdog Concordia. I’ll take a win any way we can get one.

Realistically, one win. Georgia State was a competitive game, but we're undermanned and they appear to be much stronger. But, that's OK. Its a long season.

I say we beat Minnesota. Why? Eh just a feeling. Didnt beat them in football, so basketball? We will prob go 2-1, maybe thats just me dreaming but I liked what I saw from some of the other players in the exhib. so we will have to see.

I know next to nothing about the teams we are playing. With the experience this team earned last year who knows. Why not 2-1.

We did well last year in the opening tourney in Cinci when not much was expected.

I want to see the Falcons play hard and stay healthy. These tourneys are great for the kids and all and I hope we win all 3....but they don't mean much right now.

Hoops season is about to begin...damn...where is time going????

My gut tells me we will win 1 since we are short-handed. Although, I think there's a possibility we beat Georgia State and Concordia. Either way, it doesn't mean much, so lets just play hard.

Phooey. Realistically, we could win 0, 1, 2, or 3 games.

We don't know how good we are right now, with or without the 3 blockheads.
