Question about Penn St. vs. Mich St.

Talk about the Buckeyes the Wolverines the Hilltoppers the Ducks the Beavers the Chanticleers... or anyone else who isn't BG or an opponent in this forum.

I am bored and have nothing better to do, so here is a link to the Big Ten tie-breakers: http://bigten.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/ ... 04aad.html

maybe someone already posted the true answer (i didn't read the whole thread when I saw this post) but here is how it goes.

The Big Ten Championship is based completely on record. The tie breaker only determines who goes to the Rose Bowl.

If MSU beats Penn State and OSU wins out then OSU and MSU would share the Big Ten and OSU would go to the rose bowl since they have the head to head matchup.

If PSU wins out, PSU goes to the Rose Bowl.

Michigan State has to win out and OSU has to lose a game and then MSU would go to the Rose Bowl.

OSU wins out and they at least share a the Big Ten title AGAIN. No one has shared it or won it outright as many times in a row as OSU will have if they win out. If PSU and MSU both lose another game, OSU wins the Big Ten outright.

Rose Bowl tie breakers are head to head matchups
then the games against former 1-AA teams.

The odds are really stacked against MSU since they have to win out and OSU has to lose.

It really favors PSU at this point but I think OSU will go to the Orange Bowl if they do not go to the Rose Bowl.

Some projections have OSU playing Texas Tech. That will be ugly, unfortunately.

Lucky for OSU that they get to travel to Illinois this year. Advantage Ohio State. Since 1988, OSU is 3-7 vs. the Illini at the Shoe. 6-2 at Illinois in that same timespan.

Tek, thanks for the breakdown. Seems pretty clear-cut. Go PSU!

I never said blowout. I said I didn't think Michigan can win. U of M most likely will make it interesting, and this game could go down as one of the all time best of the series, but I don't think Michigan will win it.

I think it will be a blowout. Face it Michigan is bad. I like watching Michigan lose a game or two a year...but I don't want them to be this bad. This kind of bad isn't good for anyone. It may get better next year for Michigan, maybe..but they need a lot of help. A lot of help.

Sam youtube mcguffie is overrated.

I can't see Michigan beating OSU this year....I'll give the Wolverines a 4% chance of winning that game.
