Waiting list: Eastern Michigan (2-8), Iowa State (2-9), Miami (Ohio) (2-8), Ohio (2-8), Toledo (2-8), Utah State (2-9).
Kinda scary to think we might lose to three of those teams this year
Also makes me think that unless we win the MAC CHAMPIONSHIP... we wont be going to a bowl... I think Western, Central, Ball State, and NIU probably all would be selected before us .... ONE GAME AT A TIME I SUPPOSE
I know this has been addressed over and over and over but if we win our last two games and finish the regular season 7-5 and play in the MAC Championship game, aren't we guaranteed a bowl game as the East Division champion with a winning record? Please correct me if I am wrong.

He did say that but my question is if we LOSE the MACC but beat UB and UT, we are guaranteed a bowl game with a 7-6 record and MAC East Division champions. So we would not have to win the MACC to go to a bowl game. Am I missing something here?
No we do not automatically make a bowl game by being the MAC East Champions. I couple years ago Miami was in a similar position, lost the MACC and sat home in December. Given the likes of BSU, NIU and CMU, I'd be VERY surprised if we lost the MACC and still went bowling.

I don't believe they were bowl eligible after losing the championship game. Their final record was 6-7, I believe.
If we go to the MACC and finish bowl eligible we are guaranteed a bowl game. In our case we would be 7-5, and a loss there would make us 7-6. We would still be eligible and would be guaranteed a bowl game.
Provided that BG wins their last two games...Buffalo AND Toledo...they automatically qualify for one of the 3 MAC guaranteed invites. MCB, GMAC, or the highly preferred Swoop'85 household International Bowl (because Toronto has more to offer than Detroit but both are driving distance and we've done the Mobile Experience I and II already.)
The MAC East winner automatically gets an invite UNLESS they finish with a losing record (e.g. Miami last year) and that won't happen if they beat BOTH Buffalo and Toledo.
If they lose to Buffalo...BG gets nothing. No MAC east, no MACC game, no bowl, and Toledo game is inconsequential except for PRIDE.
If they beat Buffalo, lose to Toledo, and Buffalo wins there last game(It's Kent State)). Same results and Buffalo goes to MACC.
If they beat Buffalo, lose to Toledo, and Buffalo loses their last game (its Kent State!!!) BG wins the MAC East but would have to win the MACC to get an invite. If they lose the MACC, then they stay home ala Miami last year at 6-7. Buffalo could go to a Bowl then on the basis they are technically bowl eligible but at 6-6 probably stay home since they also take a back seat to at least 2 other West teams.
Intersting note: a guy on ESPN.com slated us for the Independence Bowl. That's in Shreveport, LA. Expedia out of Akron/Canton shows its about a $1200 junket for you and a guest (2 tickets, car, 1-2 nights hotel, budget Cajun Food unless MobileBama points to his choice of retaurants there,,,where are you MobileBama???)
There is no other way to finish a season other than yelling at the top of your lungs among BG's players holding the Peace Pipe aloft!
So how about this....let's beat Buffalo and Toledo, win the MACC and LET'S GO BOWLING! Everyone needs to be at this game Friday and come with LOTS of team spirit!! Cheer those boys on, it gets them excited! We all know that we can beat Buffalo if everyone comes out on the field with the right attitude for 4 whole quarters!
