UB Tailgate
UB Tailgate
Since I just got laid off from work, I have some free time tommorow and will be going to the game. Since the weather seems to be in the 20's, I plan on tailgating indoors. Does anyone else have plans to do the same? If so, where? I was thinking Ziggy Zoombas but am open to suggestions.

You should try Barney's. You can buy beer and tampons all in one place.AJatBG wrote:Since the weather seems to be in the 20's, I plan on tailgating indoors.

If it's inside, is it really considered "tailgating"?

To me, tailgating is the total of all activities that one embarks on to get prepared for a game or event.1987alum wrote:Thinking out loud ...AJatBG wrote:Since the weather seems to be in the 20's, I plan on tailgating indoors.

I just remember the group that circled the wagons..err.. RV's... for the '06 Miami(OH) game. Best part about tailgating in this weather is you don't have to pack a cooler.

I won't be able to partake in any pregame festivities tomorrow, but if you're doing it indoors it is definitely NOT tailgating. I've tailgated in colder weather than what tomorrow should bring before.
I do remember one tailgating trip to the glass bowl, I think it was '01. There was nobody out there. We cleared everything out of the back of the 4Runner except the TV & the playstation. Then we piled 4 guys into the back, cranked the heater and only went out to get more beers. Still we were at least in the parking lot.
If you're at a bar, that's not tailgating. Perfectly acceptable pre-game ritual, but definitely not tailgating.
I just wish I could get out there to freeze my butt off earlier.

Try tailgating for a hockey game in the middle of January with the only heat coming from the turkey fryer you're frying wings in.
Hm....I wonder if we should plan another A-Z-Z hockey tailgate....

Lets try this again...
Anyone "Pre-Gaming" at any local bars?
Ive tailgated in some crappy conditions before, but it was a game where other people were out tailgating. Because there was not one mention of anyone else going to be at the stadium a substantial amount of time before kick-off, I thought it would just be silly for me and two friends to drink outside by ourselves. To me, tailgating is much more fun in larger groups.
Now, will anyone be doing anything before the game or will you just comment on my lack of dedication to Falcon football?

We'll be sauntering on over sometime between 4:30-5:00 to see the usual suspects at the north end of the parking lot.
I still park south of the end zone, which will be good since we'll probably sit in the car with the heater during halftime.
(just invited retribution from all band geeks....)
Beat Buffalo.
And for the record, as a former Upstate New Yorker, I never ever ever considered the U of B!

There is no other way to finish a season other than yelling at the top of your lungs among BG's players holding the Peace Pipe aloft!

Will any of the usual AZZ suspects be out on the East side of the stadium? Freak, What time will you be arriving? I'm planning on getting there by 4 at the latest. I picked up some Tatoo/Captain for the last home game!!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Well put hammb!!! My dad & I will be there around 2:00 and if we found out that everybody was inside at a bar or whatever I think we would seriously consider going home and never returning. Cold weather is just part of the whole tailgating expierience. Tailgating inside???? COME ON!!!!!hammb wrote:I won't be able to partake in any pregame festivities tomorrow, but if you're doing it indoors it is definitely NOT tailgating. My son has basketball practice until 6. I'll be picking him and two of his friends up at the high school and high tailing it over to the stadium. Hope to be there about the middle of the first quarter.
