Don't Panic

Post by BgWaRrIoR »

I'm sure I know what I will be reading on this forum for the next couple days......but don't do it. I realize the women's hoops team going 0-2 is like eastern beating the football team this year, but there is no reason to panic. Actually there are 6 reasons not to:

1. Non conference games- These games mean little, or nothing, in the grand scheme of things. MAC games are the important ones.

2. Undefeated Season? Yea, so the chance of an undefeated season is over. But you know what......we never would have went undefeated anyways. Basketball is almost impossible to beat everyone you play. And i personally would rather get the losses out of the way now, instead of in the NCAA's.

3. Tough Transition Just like our country, the ladies are going through a tough transition. Sure they return quite a few players, but Kate was an outstanding player, and it can be tough to start new. We have to be patient for a few games here. We will have a leader emerge but it may be another game or two.

4. Long Season It is a VERY long season, and these two games should not be used as an indicator for the rest of the year. If anything, losing early will benefit us alot more, and maybe even motivate later nown the road.

5. Not as Bad as You Think Valpo and Temple are two quality programs on their way up.

And, FINALLY

6. Can Only Go.... UP from here!!! keep the faith guys, we will be fine!!!!

+1, Can't disagree with anything there. Lipscomb comes at a great time for us to get some confidence back at home. I hope we still get a good crowd out for the game being its Michigan-OSU weekend. Honestly I don't know why UM fans would even bother wanting to watch the bloodbath that game will be anyway.

Anybody legitimately panicking at this stage should be forcibly lobotomized and deported to a third-world country of my choosing.

And here I thought this was going to be about Sara Clapper walking around crutches this evening.

Agree with all who say we will be fine. At Valpo, things weren't pretty but they still have lots to put into focus. They are all working to get better. We played against 3 guards who were shooting lights out.
Sarah twiked an ankle at practice today--- crutch are precaution IMO.
