This could be the best, or the worst, idea in our AD's tenure :) I've got my flask packed up as well, but I will definitely be partaking in the beer. This is a trial run, and we need to do everything we can to make it a success so they continue it. It's a revenue stream that needs to be tapped.

As for pricing, I wouldn't expect it to be too cheap. They're selling soda for $3 in a 20 oz and > $3 for the plastic cups. I have to imagine that the beer will be more than that.

Well.......it's $3.00 for a box of $.50-$1.00 popcorn, so my guess is a minimum of $5.00 and probably more. Our concession prices are out of touch. They think we are at a professional game!

I remember Kent State's beer being pretty cheap a few years back ($2 or $3).

Any idea how much it costs a university to have beer at a game?

I'm all for trying something new. If it gets more butts in the stands I say go for it.

We got to the game late, and by the time we got to our seats I was sure that the "beer for sale" announcement had been a hoax. Before the half we went down to hit concession stand and while standing in line I noticed the beer stand. I had to ask the guy standing behind me if my eyes were deceiving me; that I really was seeing a beer stand (with no one standing in line I might add). He said, "yeah, but it's too cold for beer". I agreed half heartedly, got my pretzel, and headed directly over to the beer stand. That beer actually froze in my cup before I got the last of it, but I was glad to have it.
My point is that I think this could be a good thing for all home games, and especially the ones that are played in temperatures above 20 degrees. Maybe they could upgrade the concession stands with all the money they would make. Other than the obvious way to put people in the stands (uhh, winning), what goes better with a football game better than quality snackage.

I grabbed a beer at halftime as well. That was nice, and at $4 really wasn't as overpriced as I expected. That's definitely a good revenue stream I'd like to see them keep around.

I wasn't real fond of the 2 choices they had, but it was still beer in the Doyt :)

Like you, my beer was actually slushy by the time I finished it.

I love COLD beer; the colder, the better. I will often put ice in it if it's not cold enough! It was awesome that my beer got slushy!!! :drinkers:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

If we stop showing up long enough, maybe they'll put a Captain stand in at the Doyt.

I think my butt was actually frozen to the seat during the game. What beers did they have?
