BG Lipscomb Rings & Banner

Post by BGSUE »

OK who's at the game Saturday? We need more people ---all in orange ready to be loud & back this group. AA should rock!
The ring & banner ceremony --- yes it celebrates the past but it can influence the future. They all want a ring. :) Kate & Whit are to attend. 8-) The passion is there. It's just in a lot of quiet packages.

One of the things I always loved about the team from 04-07 was the intensity from Liz, Ali and Kate...I loved watching those three on the floor at the same time.

I was there to see the win and found it VERY interesting that the crowd was at least a normal to above normal size crowd during the middle of the football game a couple hours to our south.
After all of the talk about the football crowd, it just goes to show that coaches and athletes that RELATE to their fans and are liked, draw well in any situation!
The time wasn't quite as bad as the 6pm on Friday, but it wasn't very well thought out either!

Only 1200 people!! I didn't hear anything from Coach Miller ripping the crowd. Oh wait, 1200 people is as much as we had for the Men's home opener. Not too bad of an attendance considering 'the game' was still in doubt.

Miller has the support of the students and the community. Why? The team produces a winning product. It isn't rocket science. Produce a winning product and people will show up. Too bad it took the Detroit Lions decades to figure that one out.

The fact that the OSU-Mich game was not going to be a good one anyway helped bring out fans that probably didn't give too much of a crap about that game. 1200 seemed a little high for what I saw but it was pretty decent. I'm still hoping for more student attendance though.

Oh, and by the way, it looked to be a solid win for the Falcons, too.

Oh yeah definitely. :) I really like McGowan when she's on the floor. Good things seemed to start happening on defense and offense when she was out there a few times. She must've had 3 or 4 deflections in only a few mins of play. She has great body control and shoots the ball effortlessly for a 5'5 guard. McCoy is apparently the #2 PG per Roos post game but I'd like to see McGowan get more time by being the back up to Pontius. Obviously a much better game by the falcons today but we still need work over the course of this season.

From the distribution of minutes, it doesn't look like the staff trusts the bench all that much yet. I'm sure that'll change as the year goes on. McCoy is going to be huge for us this year. First team all-MAC is within her reach.

Good to get the ball rolling with that first win. I wouldn't be surprised to see us run off 5 or 6 in a row now.

So he's STILL never seen a Curt Miller BG team lose a game. :-D
