What About The Little Fans?

Post by FalconLove329 »

I am new to AZZ, so I don't know any of you personally or if any of you are the ones who need to hear this, but....................Last night we had some pretty sh*tty fans at the end of the game. I get that the fans get pissed off at such a horrible loss as this one, I was right there freezing and cheering on the team like the rest of you, we lose like that, it hurts. Were there some bad coaching calls made? Definitely! Did the guys do their best on the onside kick? No Way! However....the fans who are yelling and cursing at the coaches are out of line. Do those fans not realize that you are sitting among Football Staff's families. Last night I saw coaches children crying after having to hear their fathers slammed and cursed at. Do you realize that these kids give up their dads for a big part of the year, that their dad's can't be at birthday parties, at Thanksgiving Dinners and other such important dates? Think about this next time, it's not fair for those kids.

Don't take this as me agreeing with GB's post game speech, because I definitely think that that was poor taste and I thought the crowd was great last night considering the time and weather!

So, Go Falcons! Beat Toledo....let's send the Seniors out on a positive note next week!

agreed. I feel like I know football inside and out, but you'll never hear me yelling at coaches or players or booing this team. It's a huge beef of mine with the student section that I get there before the gates open for front row seats yet somehow drunk (?) idiots who think they know football but don't start cursing after every play. It's really upsetting and something I'll never do.. doing so around that company takes it to a whole new level.

p.s. Brandon doesn't even call the plays. There's something i'm sure about 99% of the people that are yelling about it probably don't even know

You know, we've got some bad eggs in our fanbase, and that was clear from the Minnesota game when we were throwing stuff onto the field. I'm not condoning cursing at the coaches or their families. But honestly, after GB threw the fans under the bus last night, I'm not really feeling any remorse for the coaching staff either. It's clear that neither the fans nor the coaches respect each other, and that's a bad situation.

Fans should not be abusive in the presence of children, but it's extremely naive of whomever brought the children to the game to assume it would be all puppies and sunshine given the current state of affairs. Hell, fans get abusive at teeball games and youth soccer matches. You think they'll be perfectly respectful at a D-1 football game in 15-degree weather? We live in two very different worlds. If you don't want the children to hear their fathers be yelled at, you should have either gotten a babysitter, or married a dentist.

Now, if it were Dakich's kid, he'd be cussing right alongside you.

All I have to say is i understand the students. Standing out there for 3 and a half hours and screaming for the falcons the whole time? I mean the students were awesome, chanting after almost every play. If it wasnt for the students that crowd would have been even more "pathetic". So i understand the hurt students feel, getting frostbite while watching our team choke once again. And then to be slapped in the face by the HC on top of that. Damn. This is a sad time for BGSU football.
