I'm 99% sure that it was a Greg Christopher policy to play the Alma Mater after every game/match.

You havin' a real good day, Jaco? ;-)
It's always a good day in my world. :)

Urban started it with the football team, GC helped expand it to other sports

To this whole topic, I say, "ehh." Whatever. Don't get your collective panties in a bundle. Look, you did the same amount of work as you normally did, and you're all still around to live another day. They were cold, pissed off athletes, and you should just let it go.

Hell, we're all musicians. We've probably all been stood up or shot down once before, so get used to it.

Wow. When did I start talking like a non-band person? I guess part of it's because I'm with jaco on this one. This "tradition" is a relatively new one to me, and nothing that I take terribly personally.

Just calm down yo.

This is 100% accurate. However, I really feel like the first year in '01, the team only came over after wins. Urban used to get in front of players who were running into the locker room, yell and point towards the band and the players would come right over...but I am pretty sure it was only after wins.

For the rest of this thread, I'm going to agree with Carlson and say let it go. Before complaining about freezing your butts off, you all signed up for the class and are getting your credit hours (as small amount as that is) to be there. Football is not a class and I honestly don't blame them for wanting off that field. Those heaters don't do squat and their uniforms are not waterproof like your raincoats.

Really?? Was yours leaking or something? Did you forget to zip it up? Did you know it had a hood? Carlson and I are both here, and neither of us remember our raincoats not working....

the old traffic cop rain coats weren't always the most waterproof things in the world, iirc. those didn't have a hood either. always confused the hell out of me why someone would make a rain coat without a hood.

Goofy, I agree that the old black raincoats sucked something fierce and had no hood...HOWEVER...we had the new uniforms and new raincoats (with hoods even!) when we went to Mobile in 2004.

I remember it raining buckets on us right as the pregame whistle was blown...and for a little bit after that, but besides my head, my plume, and the poor excuse for a santa hat I was wearing - I was pretty dry for the most part. So I would say not only did the raincoat do it's job, but did it fairly well.

And then I found five dollars. The end. :-D
