Greg Christopher in Tuesday's BG News
BGSU Students, Faculty and Staff,
On behalf of BGSU Athletics, thank you for your support of BGSU football throughout the entire 2008 season. In particular, a special thanks to all who braved the elements to be a part of our regular season home finale this past Friday. While the final scores throughout the season weren’t always what we had in mind, your continued support of the Football Falcons and all other BGSU Athletics teams is greatly appreciated.
I hope you enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday, and if you’ll be sticking around the area, remember the BGSU football team concludes the regular season with the annual Battle of I-75 rivalry game at Toledo on Friday, Nov. 28. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. at The Glass Bowl on the UT campus, and if you can’t make it in person, the game is being televised on ESPN Classic.
Thanks again for your continued support, and Roll Along!

To what gain? The home season is over. To blow John Q Public with a false adversarial ploy with no short term advantage is pure stupidity.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Are we being good cop, bad copped?
I think this is simply some public relations trying to douse flames. I'm not sure the A.D. sees this as a huge issue - and it may not be. This whole mess will most likely be forgotten by the third week in April.

I don't think so Rightupinthere... there's some strong momentum from some very important people on campus from what I understand. The "natives" aren't happy and are making some noise behind the scenes.Rightupinthere wrote:To what gain? The home season is over. I'm not sure if this open letter is any component of that what-so-ever, but I don't think the "whole mess" will be forgotten any time soon.

What is running counter to your argument is the fact that GB is holding his ground.ZiggyZoomba wrote:I don't think so Rightupinthere... there's some strong momentum from some very important people on campus from what I understand. If this situation was being held seriously within the A.D. GB would have his feet being held to the fire.
I don't see that - at least not yet.

If I understand the situation correctly, out a SDSU the head coach as getting public support from the AD and everything appeared fine. Meanwhile the President and AD were off secretly collecting a $1million dollar buyout. Could that be happening here?Rightupinthere wrote: What is running counter to your argument is the fact that GB is holding his ground.

Dear all Falcon fans,
Thanks for your support, our coach was very, very wrong with his comments. Give me some cash and I'll do the right thing.
May as well have.
That's good, and I completely agree. Hope Grant is right about the wheels turning for some action here.

Not this time. Most of Brandon's screw ups have been coaching related and you just move on from that. This time though, he insulted me and most of the fans with his comments. Now it's personal and people won't forget that.Rightupinthere wrote:This whole mess will most likely be forgotten by the third week in April.

I would have hoped he did it in the hallway right after the press conference and not wait until the next morningJacobs4Heisman wrote:Here's the thing. If I'm the AD looking at this from a public relations perspective, how do I not pull Brandon into my office Saturday morning and tell him he has until Monday morning to apologize to the fans or he can start updating his resume?
