Vandermeer played like 7 mins last game. His minutes have shrunk and shrunk every game since he played 17 or so in the second game. In that second game he had 3 blocks and he has had one in each other game. He also had a bunch of rebounds.
Retarded is a horrible phrase. Show some class.
ANd I did mispell Germaine. Woops.

Vandermeer has lost some PT in the recent games, I've been wondering that myself, but I'm sure its based on how well he's practicing.McMetz811 wrote:Spell his name right, then we might believe you. And are you retarded? Vandermeer plays all the time and is a blocking machine.Germainefitch1 wrote:Not this season anyway. I graduated in 2003 and live in Columbus now. I was at nearly every game when we had McLEod etc. and actually worked int he sIDs office in the press box.
What's with all the name calling and accusations towards GermaineFitch1? Sure, he spells the name of one of our players incorrectly in his screen name, but other than that what has he done wrong?
I'd really hate to see someone who could be another valuable member of our BG fan community run off because of some petty BS!
Detroit's tallest player is lik 6'8 and they are a quick team. Letting Cory play center while we get some faster players at the smaller position keeps us in the game. That was just for Detroit Mercy too. Vandermeer usually splits time with Almonson because Cory is more of a PF. In other words, Cory's playing doesn't really have a lot to do with Vandemeer's time.Germainefitch1 wrote:Vandermeer played like 7 mins last game. Sorry if that word offends you or anyone else. It's just the word I use to call people stupid. I will try to show some more class on here just so everyone is happy.
However, mispelling someones name is disrespectful and rather classless in my opinion. Then once realizing you spelled it wrong, you mispell it again in your post. Sorry, but maybe you should show some class if you are a true fan of his.

That's beautiful man!!hammb wrote:You're getting snide remarks from Grant & Flipper, because that's who they are.
Misspelled-Fitch would have loved it during the pre-OSU game hype when we not only busted out the lyrics of Glen Frey's "Smuggler's Blues" on people, but ALSO just responded with nothing more than the name of a music diva. Ahhhhhh, those were the days!
Hammb is right though, I answered how I answered because I don't know the answer. And if you know this program well enough, you'll realize NO ONE knows the answer other than Dan Dakich.
My GUESS would be that right now, senior leadership is more important than anything.
That and "just because."

Vandermeer's PT
It's my guess that DD is unsure about substitutions until the game is going and he needs to decide on the spot. PT for part-timers like Vandermeer can fluctuate between 0 and 20 minutes depending on the flow of the game, which is unpredictable. Basically, I think the minutes that guys log are not pre-planned or systematic, but more based on DD's instincts and reactions.
The original question has occurred to me, as well, however, and I agree with what it implies. I'd like to see Vandermeer (and Lefeld) log more minutes. Those guys block shots and at least TRY score in the paint.
