With all the millions being donated right now, do you really think there isn't money out there that could be had? Some say not, I don't believe that for a second. A few things have changed in BG during the last couple of years.

This is not the same BG that many said couldn't come up with lots of million dollar plus donors, etc. A lot of these people have, and are going to be giving millions to athletics and beyond. Many of these are known figures within our community. Many of those same people haven't been shy about speaking their minds to ADs and Presidents. Now that they have donated real money, not only are they going to be far less reluctant to speak-up, but their words are going to carry many times more weight.

Now GC isn't a fool. He knows the paper record of the team. Surely he sees the quality of the product Brandon produces. Regardless as to if he wants too, in order to fire Brandon, or even simply to look to see if the money was out there to fire him, he would have to at least speak with the prexy and/or Mr Whipple (don't squeeze the budget.) It is possible the donors, Whipple, and/or the President have already broached the topic with him.

If there are feelers out to donors, then it must mean conversations have been had. And with an interim president, I actually think the odds of action being taken are better than some think. She can do the axe work to keep the hands of the incoming president clean. Indeed, the Trustees, donors, all parties that might have an interest in seeing Brandon fired either are already acting, or never will.

My basic point: Don't be so sure the old reality in BG still is absolutely true. You might be surprised.

I liked this part. You know the part about it concluding the "regular season" Does Greg really think that we are going to be playing in a post season? Seriously.

To be fair, hell could still freeze over, so we can't yet say they won't make a bowl game.

That alone would be enough to earn a five year extension in recent years.

And not to derail the thread, but wouldn't a bowl bid throw an odd wrinkle into the whole thing? Especially if the Falcons were to win a bowl game.

Strange days, these. Strange days, indeed.

Yep,
We've still got an 'ace in the hole' and its 'all for one, and one for all' we've just got to remember 'our backs are too the wall' on this one. But, 'take it from me' I'm not going to 'hold my breath' while we wait for 'hell to freeze over' I think it's time to 'stick fork in this one.'

That's exactly what I've been saying with my friends lately. Christopher has been able to find people willing to donate 7 figure sums to help build new & better facilities. If he can find people with that much money I don't think it's inconceivable at all that he could find somebody to fund a buyout if that's the direction he wanted to head.

I'd still be somewhat surprised if something were to happen, but I fully embrace such a move. This program badly needs a new face.

No - it's personal. I spent a damn lot of money this year supporting this program. And because I had a charity event to go to last Friday night Brandon calls me out as not a "true supporter????"

What's more important, Gregg? BGSU sports or disabled kids???? You tell me, please.

GB said the folks there Friday night were "the true fans." He didn't they were the only true BGSU fans. The people there Friday night were the true fans while the sunshine loyalists were nowhere to be found.

What I got out of GB's incredibly stupid, horribly timed comment was, only the true fans showed up and when no fair-weather fans show up our attendance sucks.

That being said, coaches should be retained or let go based on their on-field, in-classroom, and police blotter record. If we were winning GBs honking would be "colorful." As it is, it sounds like whining from someone who refuses to take responisibilty for his program.

Am I disappointed and angry at the result of the Buff game. Yup.
Did I feel like GB kicked my dog and personally insulted me with his moronic post-game comments? Nope.

And GC should've included something about beating UT. Furthermore, it was sad he felt compelled to mention playing UT is a rivalry game.

Go BG! Beat Toledo!

Go back to feeling insulted now.

Good news, Falcon Fans! Your interim president is actively seeking donations, probably for this very cause. I know this because she just sent me a letter asking me to donate money to BG. My wife thinks this is the funniest thing ever. Besides, so far I've pretty much liked Brandon.
