Kenny Battle at Northen Illinois.

I think I take Trevor Hoffman in a close one over Gates at Kent State.

Eastern Michigan -- Charles Thomas????

I'll take Brian Tolbert or Derrick Dials over both Thomas brothers any day of the week.

A university's endowment is a fund used to support various things including scholarships, programs, faculty positions, etc.. The money used is that earned from interest. The principle isn't spent.
Ours is small. How can we work harder to make it grow.

They make all kinds of topical creams for that nowadays.

Doh! Dials and Tolbert slipped my mind. You know, Thomas played int the NBA, but I think it was Carl, not Charles.

Through the years, EMU has had as much talent as any MAC school.

I didn't get a chance to see Marlje play at Central, but he'd probably have to be the top guy there. Dan Roundfield has a tremendous senior season. Defensively at that level, he was a little like Bill Russell. He changed so many shots and intimidated players coming into the lane. He'd get called for about 6 goal tendings a game, but he'd just keep going up and swatting shots out of the air, figuring eventually refs would give him the benefit of the doubt on anything close. Ben Poquette played just a little later at CMU.

Steve Mix would probably be No. 1 for Toledo, but his teammate, John Brisker was a heck of a player, too. He played in the old ABA and for the Supersonics before vanishing in Uganda sometime during the '70s. He was eventually declared dead.

Harper would have to be No. 1 at Miami. Wayne Embry was awfully good as well.

I'd have to go with Gary Trent from OU. Walter Luckett was a good player, but he tried to jump to the NBA way too early.

Ball State you probably have to go with Bonzi Wells, but you have to say something for Ray McCallum. He never made it in the NBA, but he was a four-year starter and MAC player of the year as a senior. He also led the team in scoring all four years (I think) during an era when Ball State was winning championships.

BG, I'd have to go with Thurmond, although Butch Komive's scoring his senior year was incredible.

The Iceman for EMU.

I think there only two guys to consider at BG and that's Komives and Thurmond. AD was obviously great too. I think after that it's "everyone else."

Roundfield doesn't make Central's top 5?

Davis ahead of Szerbiak? And EMBRY?

T J Lux?

Wow. Well, opinions are the lifeblood of the board but I got Szerbiak, Embry and Roundfield having solid NBA careers after outstanding MAC careers while Johnson, "Sugar" McL and Leavy made no pro impact. But like I said Central and OU were hard. Lots of good ones there.

Lux played in Europe I think, but not the NBA while Battle was in the NBA for a thermos of coffee and Rayhorn was awfully good too.

The Toledo fan, an ex-Rocky, then proceeds to fall off the bridge and has to swim for three miles to save himself.
