Friday night... BG 2, Minn St 2, Final

BG was down 2-0 at one point, came back and forced the tie.

Go get 'em Saturday night.

It was a hard fought game! Guys worked their butts off and Spratt had a great game! That save by Spratt and Page late in the 3rd was just unfreakin' believable!!!!

GO ICERS!!
BEAT 'EM TOMORROW NIGHT!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

It was a fun game to watch, especially the second and third periods. Jimmy was making some insane saves and at one point he was doing backflips to keep us in it. Kyle Page was also outstanding...as was Kai Kantola. Good game. I hope we get them tomorrow night. I also hope more people attend because before the people got back from the BG/UT game, things were a little dead....

Yeah, I know all of the students are home. I was too, but I'm lucky enough to live 25 minutes away so I could drive back. I'm not saying it's the students' fault, I'm just saying I hope that more people come back Saturday night and can attend the game.

So, we didn't do the shootout because the conference Minnesota State is in doesn't do them?? I thought since the game was in our house CCHA rules would take precedent.

The NCAA doesn't acknowledge shootout wins. It goes in the record book as a tie.

There wasn't a shootout.
I think the coaches could have agreed to have one.
A tie was the appropriate final score.

There is nothing appropriate about kissing your sister.

I hate that cliches.

Shootouts are silly.

If I was in charge, there would be no overtime in hockey or football. Period.

Shootouts should not be in hockey. If after an overtime a tie ensues than so be it. The "A tie is like kissing your sister" is one of the stupidest quotes ever. I'd rather have no winner than see a great game determined by a bunch of breakaways.

I wouldn't condone shootouts in the playoffs...not one bit...but a tie is the more stupid than the entire idea of soccer

Jimmy's left foot kept it out of the net and Page cleared it so quickly it looked like they BOTH saved it at the same time! It was awesome! I wish I could see a reply of that one!!!

If you PM me with your cell phone number, I'll send you text updates. I'm sending them to someone else also, so I'll just include your number in the text too!!
