I was totally blown away by that. You'd think anyone working in sports or the media would be used to the fact it's not a profession that cares whether it's a holiday or weekend. Wow, this was a decision that really HAD to be made with this additional info. We've all known that the players were not controlled off the field. We all know that they didn't perform on the field. Now we find out that they were also not cutting it in the classroom? Wow.
Kudos to Greg Christopher for making the tough decision. He even seems to think he may have been sitting here firing the coach even if we had a MACC game to play? Wow, BALLSY.
I have a VERY strong respect for our athletic director this day. Not just because this is the direction I've wanted them to head for years, but the fact that the man has the balls to make this decision in the first place. I take back a lot of the things I may have said about him in the past, this is a major decision that had to be made.

Ah yes, but as many of us know, you can announce anything the day after T-giving and no one will hear it or care. I hope that was the point he was trying to make with that dumb sounding question. Firing a coach the day after T-giving is like the White House announcing an unpopular policy decision on a late Friday afternoon.NY-BG-FAN wrote:I was totally blown away by that. Listening to the audio, it sounds like GC fired him over off the field stuff. You could hear GC sweat when a guy said, "GB is the winningest MAC. coach...and you want to go in a different direction."

Had this been announced on Friday I could understand the question, but it's Saturday. I like the sense of urgency Greg Christopher has in his voice. This is not a decision that was made after the Buffalo game, it's been on the burner for a good part of the season. That is what I tool out of what was and was not said in the press conference.RobbyFalcon wrote:Ah yes, but as many of us know, you can announce anything the day after T-giving and no one will hear it or care. And would the inevitable firing been on Brandon's radar thus his Foolish Outburst after the Buffalo game due to the fact he had nothing to lose since his fate was already sealed? And could I conspiracy futher to suggests this may be the reason he also failed to prepare the team for several key games? It's the Journey... wrote:Had this been announced on Friday I could understand the question, but it's Saturday.
