According to Gmartin, he donated $25,000 plus LAST YEAR but it was no reported, lol. He claimed to have donated that amount for at least the past eight years which would put him over $200,000 total donated, making him one of the largest donors in the history of Bowling Green. Again, no record of that.

I could care less who donates what. What I do care is when some blowhard sitting behind a computer wants to give the false allusion that he is some big donor who may have had a hand in getting rid of the football coach. That is laughable. The big donors dont' get on here and if they do, they don't brag about how much money the give, while using a false name. Gmartin is a phoney!

Whenever you are in Indianapolis look me up. And if you gladly PM me your address I will gladly mail you cancelled checks! I only keep the last 5 years but who cares!

Can we just drop the dick swinging/I donate/no you don't crapola?

This is a bittersweet day in BG sports history, do we really need this nonsense to clutter up the thread?

See ya Coach Brandon. I will miss your 29 point per game offense in your tenure here, I will miss your 31-17 MAC record, I will miss your teams going toe-to-toe with the big bad BCS teams early in the year, and I will miss you not making excuses for having most of your playmakers injured for a lot of your MAC seasons because of that tough schedule. Don't look back --these guys here that wanted you out don't realize that 31-17 records in this league is pretty darn good--they say that you were mediocre yet look at Toledo, Ohio, Miami, etc. Through all of the MAC parity you stood tall and were fighting for championships. Your comments on the crowd were just too frank and to the point. The truth hurts. They hurt the wrong people too much. The same people who weren't at the game against Buffalo were the same people that went to a home exhibition basketball game while you guys were shutting down and dominating OU instead of paying $7 to watch on a computer. You're better off out of here and hopefully we will never have to play one of your offenses wherever you go.

I am stunned with the move as well. Shocked that we took on the buyout. Christopher really will have the chance to put his stamp on the athletic program now. Our hockey coach probably not feeling too comfortable right about now.

I hope Christopher can do as good of job hiring head coaches as Paul Krebs did. Basketball team seems headed in the right direction but too early to tell on Orr. Krebs hit home runs with Urban Meyer and Curt Miller. Lets hope Christopher has the same ability to judge young coaching talent.

Our next head coach needs to...

1. maintain our spread offense. This offense sets us apart and levels the playing field with the bigger programs.

2. be able to lead young men. He needs to be able to command their attention and respect. Brandon never really had this, or if he did, lost it somewhere along the way.

3. develop and attitude on the defensive side of the ball.
We've scored points in bunches over the years but never won a sausage. Defense wins championships.

Did you listen to Christopher's press conference?

Since my last union jobsite.

Geeze, Don Nehlen contract was not renewed because he couldn't win the "big" one.

The GMAC bowl, the all criminal team, and the inability to put opponents away, then never blaminig himself pretty well sealed the deal for Brandon.

Dee Knoblauch was the last coach to be let out of a contract early. I like GC's philosophy.

As far as does he or doesn't he, what's the difference? Even at $500.00 he gave more than I did in the last 10 years. Bless him if he did. My Falcon Club membership lapsed when Fran Voll left the Falcon club and I just never bothered to renew since then. Sitll pay for and get to sit in those fancy orange seats, thanks to a good FC member.

Blackney? I seem to remember someone like that ridden out on a rail.

I think APR being valued that highly by our AD (maybe not as much as he is telling us, but still) is a great thing for the school.

Trying to figure out who is more self serving: Brandon for complaining about attendance when he has an attendance clause in his contract that gives him a gmartinesque $25,000 or Autello who keeps harping that he broke the story, not (gasp) the video media.

OK, as I read all of the posts up to this point, I have to laugh. Many of you have called for GB's head over the last couple of weeks, but since he has been let go, you feel some sort of guilt?

While he has a respectable record, he hasn't won enough in conference and it seems he has had players get in trouble away from the field. He has also put his foot in his mouth (ripping the fans).

... Since no one on this post has mentioned it, let me be the first to throw out a name. Luke Fickell. OSU Co-Defensive Coordinator. In C-bus he has been rumored to be a strong candidate that UT might interview. No reason why BG shouldn't interview him. After all, he coached some pretty good defenses the last few years. He also was an assistant at Akron when Lee Owens was the coach, so he knows the MAC.

Other than that, I don't know of any OSU assistants that might be interested.

I've seen a total of *ONE* post lamenting his departure.

I think the others just have class and are showing some human empathy. Imagine that.

bringbackblackney wrote:Interesting that you donated another $25,000 to BGSU. I say intersesting because I just received the end of the year report from the Foundation outlining all donations. The funny thing is that you weren't in there, at least at the $25,000 level. You are nothing more than a blow hard. You have not given at that level and probably have barely given anything. And you definitely didn't give any money to Greg Cristopher this week. Stop lying. I'm not impressed you blowhard!

EXCUSE ME.. If you would like to see my bank records I would be more than happy to show you!! GMARTIN is not my name, it is my screen name. And if you must know, this year was $34,000.00 Next year is $25,000. So before you go shouting off your mouth with only 1 post, next time PM me and I will be more than happy to meet with you the next time I am in BG.
Is there anything worse that one who goes around announcing how much $$$ one gives to the University? That is crass, rude and arrogant.

WE GET IT....you donate a lot of jack. Thanks for what you do.

I think this is the primary variable which weighs heavily in my mind. I love the fact that Christopher isn't looking the other way in order to have a winning program.

Nine schollies gone because of APR is more of a blackmark against Brandon than game management. I'm disappointed that I thought this was one place Brandon may have excelled: I was wrong.

Has BGSU ever fired a coach before? Seriously. I had thought that we let people go when their contracts expired.
