"-I have Brandon’s contract in front of me and a few things jump out. Brandon would have received an additional $10,000 had BG went to a bowl, an additional $25,000 for winning the MAC title, and an additional $20,000 if the average home game attendance was 17,000 or more. By my calculations, BG averaged 15,701 for home games."
So Brandon lost more money from the low attendance at the Buffalo game than he lost by actually losing the game...now it all makes sense!

Yep, that part stood out to me as well.San Diego Falcon wrote:"-I have Brandon’s contract in front of me and a few things jump out. Wow. Can you say conflict of interest? I was thinking back to Brandon handing out tickets to students at the Union this year, plus all the other things he said he did to promote attendance. You don't have to be too cynical to wonder whether he was working for the program or his own financial gain. It just feels sleazy to me. And, couple this with the classroom problems, and I am losing what little respect I had for Brandon as more and more information is becoming public.Warthog wrote:Yep, that part stood out to me as well.San Diego Falcon wrote:"-I have Brandon’s contract in front of me and a few things jump out. I don't have a problem with this at all. I think this is a good example of aligning your coach's compensation with the goals of the program. I think most of us would agree that the best way to increase attendence is to win a lot of football games - which is his job anyway. I see it as just another way to reward a coach for a good year on the field.Rollo83 wrote:Wow. Can you say conflict of interest? Granted, I have no problem with the clause. I do have a problem with the coach politicing for fan support and then ripping the fans when they fail to show up. You said it...coach a winner and you don't need to be standing outside the Union trying to pursued students to attend.jmillerbg wrote:I don't have a problem with this at all. The APR numbers could be guessed, since only a few months ago, when talk of UT being under the hammer came out, BGSU's were noted as being on a razors edge. It was a point I and others were making from time to time since then.
Brandon may or may not have known. But as I noted in Grant's thread on the response he got from Brandon, I said it was curious he phrased one sentence in "and will be long after I'm not here." I'm paraphrasing there. He either knew, or was already able to sense his job was in jeopardy.
GC's public response, but non-support of Brandon spoke volumes.
Brandon might have known what was coming, or suspected it enough to try to either go out on a better note or by noting the theoretical chance at a bowl, delay what might be coming.
