Sure, but that's more the exception than the rule. Furthermore, we're talking about the difference between a 2nd round pick and a 7th round pick, and a couple of 6-10 power forwards. Players that fit the profile you describe are normally guards, pure shooters, or undersized power forwards (Danny Horace).Rollo83 wrote:Wrong! It's a reflection of their perceived ability as a professional. I can give you plenty of examples of great college players that never got drafted high (or at all) and never made it in the pros.BleedOrange wrote:Yeah, it does. It's a direct reflection of their talent as a collegian. I would agree, though, that what a player actually did in a pro league has no bearing.Rollo83 wrote:Where they went in the NBA draft has no bearing on how good of college players they were.BleedOrange wrote:Rayhorn was great. For comparison, Rayhorn was selected in the 7th round. Lux would've gone in the 2nd round at the latest if not for blowing out his knee before the draft.Redwingtom wrote:I have no idea what a TJ Lux is but the best player ever at NIU was Allen Rayhorn by a mile.

But screw all that. I saw them both play and Lux was clearly better. So go take a flying leap.

Marcus Kennedy is the guy I was talking about, but I was referring to their Sweet 16 run in 91. The Thomas twins were Carl and Charles, by the way.Dayons_Den wrote:EMU had a big man Marcus Kennedy that was part of their run in the late 80s? He was a good player and wore the Rec Specs goggles.
