Unacceptable Loss!
For the love of the University, please Coach Orr don't say anything about the fan base in your post game comments.
And once the team gets home make 'em shoot a few thousand free throws and then lets Roll On!

Ouch!
Maybe coach O can take a page from the DD 4 friggin' pass motionless offense
I guess no lead is safe for these guys. Oh well, we'll get it right sooner or later. It's odd that some players don't seem to be playing at the level they played last year. What's up with that?

The Sagarin computer ratings have Savannah State ranked 292 out of 347 teams. With the kind of parity there is in basketball, that may not mean much, but still, it fringes on a "bottom feeder" status. I was hoping (and still am) that the basketball team could divorce itself from losses like this and bring some element of respectability back to men's sports at BG.

Sagarin ratings for individual teams don't mean anything this early in the season. There isn't nearly enough data to generate a meaningful rating. At this point, it might pay to look at conference ratings, but ratings for individual teams are much more reliable when Feb rolls around.
It was my fault we lost. I didn't get to listen to much of the first half, when I turned it on we were up by 17, and pushed it to 21 before half. Then the 2nd half we fell completely apart.
I blame myself. I should've shut it off when they started off the 2nd half so poorly...obviously I was the reason they quit playing.
What I listened to was a comedy of errors (turnovers), a lot of big 3 pointers by the opposition, and poor free throw/layup shooting by BG. Not a good combo.

In my opinion this was a bad loss only because we blew such a large halftime lead. We should have won and we need to learn how to close out games.
It was not a loss to a bad team however. I watched Savannah State play against a Michigan this year and they are a good team. Not an NCAA tournament team or probably not even an NIT team, but still a good team.
My only thought on this game is that it sucks that we didn't close it out. But at the same time, I'm encouraged that we could've easily beat them had we not fallen apart in the second half and made some free throws. It's a long season, in a one bid league.
