The credit goes to BGSU Falconz!!!

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

The GORGEOUS new look of the site is the vision of forum member BGSU Falconz!! Our very own Mike Williams. He and I have been working for a few months to get this thing just right. His artistic talents and his desire to make this site look as good as its content has always been has been a wondrful blessing!!!

Thanks Mike!!!

I'll post more about what's here, what's not here and what's still to come tomorrow or something...right now I'm going to bed. ;-)

Although you must change the default time to GMT -4 in your profile to see the correct EDT time.

I can't wait until you get your list of avatars posted.

Grant and Mike: THIS IS SOOOO GREAT!!!!!!!!! I told you everyone would go totally nuts over it!! WELL DONE!!! The two best things about this site now...THE COLORS!!! ...and adding the '84 Hockey National Championship Team and a Falcon Puck to the main picture of the site!! :D

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I do have to say this is one of the best customization jobs I have seen with phpBB. What makes it even more amazing is the adherance to the school colors. Superb job....and kudos on the shock value of flipping the switch.

You know, I wrangled and wrangled with ideas of how to "transition" the site...but in the end, I'm glad I just "flipped the switch." Just the responses of jaws dropping makes me realize it was the right decision.

The forums do look AMAZING! (although they COULD look a little better with some gradients... ;-) )

The first version I showed him of the style sheet design for the forum had orange to brown gradient blends for the title and subtitle bars. It looked dreadful, but was only supposed to be a preliminary thing.

...apparently Grant liked it.

Be that as it was, I went ahead and redesigned the title bars to look beveled, which I like a whole lot better, and I think he does too, since he hasn't changed it! :D

This is very good the way it is....as lovely as our colors are, it can be a feat to use them in an eye-pleasing, readable fashion....and these template covers both of those to perfection!
