Beckman
I had been told that Beckman interviewed at BG a couple of days ago. Also, Toledo did not even start their interviews until Sunday, but UT did have the people in mind already long before Brandon was let go at BG.
Also, in his press conference today, Beckman was asked about BG and he did admit that he was contacted by BG about their opening. Whether he really did go for an interview I don't know, because he did not elaborate.

Is there such thing as a believable Norm story?hammb wrote:And a LOT more believable than Norm's story of us in a rush to sign him. When you think about it it's pretty hard to believe we'd be in a rush to sign a guy only 5 days after we fired our coach. Just doesn't make sense that we wouldn't be taking more candidates under consideration.etipton12 wrote:Interesting.Falconwise wrote:Time will tell if Beckman is a head coach. By the way,he was not being considered for the BG job. He was well into the process at UT before GB was cut lose.

As noted during the UT game, that school was very close to finishing their search when firing Brandon was announced.
I'm not sure any of the first round of names mentioned are front runners.
Anybody would be an upgrade over Anstutz, so Beckman should do better than him. That which works at UT, doesn't automatically work in BG. The salary they are paying Beckman is a hint of what is to come in BG. We may pay more, we may pay less. But BGSU needs somebody that can give us a bigger bang, even if the buck is bigger too. We have a first rate set of facilities, they need a staff and team good enough to match it.

Oh s**t, are you confusing me with Flipper? C'mon, I'm not as accident prone as he is. I only fell off a ladder and hurt myself one time. He makes seasonal trips to the E-R.NWLB wrote:Like a hot razor through warm butter, Flipper slices to the core lesson here!Warthog wrote:Football coaches should NOT wear visors.
