Purdue's Spack also likely candidate.

Eberflus would be an excellent pick, IMO. He's an up and coming coach that would make a very good head coach.

Not liking the fact Spack's name has come up again. He really is thoroughly unimpressive.

That settles it. Eberflus is not our guy.

If Mizzou somehow upsets Oklahoma, I'll put this guy pretty high on my list. I still like Ron English and Luke Fickell as my top two, though.

I wish they'd just name the coach already so we can bitch about it!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

------- was a horrible coaching hire. He lacks ------- and --------. I just wish we could have gotten a coach with -----------. I will support him regardless.

I would also love to see English here. Has he been mentioned elsewhere as a candidate?

I would be surprised if EMU isn't looking at English. Lloyd Carr is helping in EMU's coaching search and he spoke often about English being a very good future head coach.

That's a good point.

Though EMU is still.... EMU. If English were to be interested in either job, does he have enough loyalty to Carr to risk taking over a program like that, or does he want to start with a potential "leg up" by taking over a team like BG?

Although the Mrs. Meyer's Husband Principle shows that if he could turn EMU around quickly, his stock would skyrocket.

Either of these two would be a huge, huge mistake.

We don't take Toledo's rejects. We don't take defensive coordinators at programs known primarily for their ability to win by outscoring their opponents. We don't take someone whose unit is #116 in the nation in pass defense or a Greg Christopher crony who was just fired and is now looking for a job.

(BTW, I think Beckman was the wrong move for Toledo. He's a great person but simply doesn't have the temperment to be a head coach. You can only do so much ranting, raving and screming before the players tune you out, as the countless defensive meltdowns by BG and now Oklahoma State demonstrate. IMO, he was in line to be fired at Okie State after being torched by the Sooners and saw the UT job as his own personal bailout in a area where he has a comfort zone)
