But many "Ball State diehards" weren't on the bandwagon until they beat IU.BGSUfalcons wrote:D-bag wrote:

I would have thought that they would choose the win over 7-4 Navy.
BSU turns down Boise!

This is a great point.TG1996 wrote:I agree with the notion that Ball State could shut up a lot of doubters (myself included, really) by going out to Boise and beating them on their home field. But they shouldn't have to.
Since it appears likely that the MCB will be inviting an at-large team (NC St. or ND, if what this hack says is true), why not invite Boise State? Turn the tables on them and see if they'd be willing to travel for a non-BCS bowl game. And it's not even to the opponent's home stadium. And if Boise State can't go because they're tied into the Humanitarian Bowl, then why not write something about that... one of the premier non-BCS teams of this decade is tied to playing a home game during bowl season unless it benefits their image to go elsewhere.

Appears to be a moot point. Ball St. won't be undefeated. I do wish they would have ponied up and accepted the Humanitarian Bowl bid. It would have showed some moxy. Personally (if I went to Ball St.), I'd rather play a Boise team vs. a mediocre ACC or Big 10 team in the MCB. As effed up as it is (having Boise "magically" end up in a bowl at their own stadium) I would have liked to see Ball St. step up and prove they're worthy on the smurf turf. Guess it's pointless now.

OF COURSE it's a great point. Look where it came from.

Yeah, sure. That is what people were saying about BGSU-Tulsa last year. This year, hardly anybody thinks we got anything out of that.Globetrotter wrote:I agree with this
"Yes, the Humanitarian Bowl is played on the Broncos’ home field in Boise, but that shouldn’t matter. The stadium would’ve been packed, television ratings would’ve been huge. Win or lose, the Cardinals would’ve received a level of exposure their program has never known."
Playing Boise State at Boise State and losing will mean more to Ball State then playing NC State in Detroit
BSU made the right call. Playing Boise in Boise is a seriously stupid thing. I don't mind the game being up there, but it is about as fair as FSU having hosed the Cal bowl all those years.
The MAC gains nothing from sending all its teams to the alter. It must fight to make sure we can get more favorable match-ups. Thankfully that is starting to become the priority it should be.
